Here is a 1985 Honda VF 500 Interceptor that a friend of mine owned since new and has recently past away so I am helping his widow sell it. It is in very good condition and has only 3204 miles on it. It has spent the last 15 years sitting in the corner of a heated garage. Not long after he bought it he laid it down on the right side and did little damage. There is some road rash on the right side pipe, the front brake lever is bent a little and the right mirror is scratched. The upper fairing, tank an windscreen look undamaged. The belly pan on the bottom got scratched a little but if a new decal was put on it be hard to tell. Most of the damage was to the clutch cover that got ground down a bit on the lower edge. Paint the pipe and get another clutch cover off ebay for 25.00 and it would look really good again. I got a new battery for it in hopes that it would just fire up but it didn't. I got to sit and idle on full choke but as soon as you touch the throttle it dies. The carburetors will definitely need cleaned. I took of the fuel line and confirmed that fuel pump is working good and the is fuel in the bowls. I had it idling for 10 minutes or so, the radiator fan worked when it got warmed up. Everything else seems fine, the brakes and clutch are working, all the lights, tires etc. So with a little touch up paint for the clutch cover and the pipe and a good carb cleaning you could have a pretty nice vintage Honda. The paint is in good shape with a few little scuff and scratches mostly in the clear and the is a scratch on the left side cover just under the seat where the seat legs scratched away the decal stripe when the seat was being put on and no lined up. Overall it looks really good. Also the original tool kit is still in the box under the seat.
