The 1969 Mustangs looked more serious than previous models. The Fastback 2+2 was replaced with the four inch longer SportsRoof. The SportsRoof have a distinctive sideline with a simulated scoop and a faster looking roof slope.
We purchased this Mustang SportsRoof in 2007. The previous owner had replaced the original 302 with a period correct 351 cubic inch Cleveland 4 barrel V-8 with only 8,000 miles on the rebuild. The car has a Magna Flow dual exhaust with an X pipe and 4 wheel power disc brakes. There is
a Grant wood steering wheel to match the wood accents in the interior. The 16 inch aftermarket wheels have red accents to match the 351 stripes on the
rockers. A black vinyl galloping Mustang graphic completes the picture.
There are a few areas needing attention:
The oil pressure, fuel, temperature and
speedometer are not working (we have not investigated why)
A small tear on the passenger seat
A small crack in the vinyl on the driver’s door panel
A minor ding on the passenger side above the bumper
Some under body surface rust and corrosion on the floor pan
The front spoiler is loose
Some breather hoses are disconnected as a result of the engine swap
