I am selling a very hard loaded 1966 Caprice 396 matching number big block car. It is a project that needs complete restoration but it’s about 98% and will need very little body work before you paint it. When I got the car about a year ago it had been sitting in dry storage for many years. I planned to restore it and got started on the assessment and some disassembly but have since added twins to my family and they just take up too much of my time to do a complete restoration right now. When I originally inspected the car the floors looked great from below but once home I started to clean up the years of rodent nests I started falling though the floor everywhere. It turns out the urine had made the floor thin and weak. For this reason the car will need floor pans and the trunk pan. Once you have done that the hardest part of restoring this car is done. The only other rust repair needed in the whole car is patch the bottom of the fenders and replace the trunk lid because is inner structure at the rear lip is rusty. The carburetor and air cleaner were missing but the rest of the engine was 100% original to the car and complete. The motor was frozen from sitting so I disassembled it and ran everything over to the machine shop to check the condition. The block was cleaned up and pre-bored to be sure it would be ok at .030 over. It will and the crank will polish up at standard. Heads all check out good too but of course will need to be rebuilt in install new valves and such. If you are local I can load everything up as is or if you need the car needs to be shipped I will put it all back together enough so it can go in one piece. The tires were dry rotted junk so I will have some that will hold air on the car when it’s picked up. This will be a gorgeous car when it’s back on the road and it full of options. There is a clear title on the car.
