Vehicle Detail
For Sale: 1988 Pontiac Fiero GT I hate to do it, but I've decided to sell my 1988 Fiero GT. The car has just over 60,000 original miles. The car is 99% original. I will describe the other 1% later. I will do my best to describe everything about the car, but if I forget to include something, please feel free to contact me. This car is a zero rust car. It spent most of its life in the west Texas desert in dry air. There is no rust. I've included pictures of the trunk corners where Fiero owners know that it is the first place rust pops up. The car is a 1988 GT. The 1988 Fiero has improved brakes and suspension over the 84-87 models. The 88 cars are the most desirable and collectable. Standard features are: 2.8 V64 wheel disc brakesDiamond spoke wheelsTiltLeather wrapped steering wheelPower windowsPower deckled release Options include: AutomaticSunroof w/SunshadeSpoilerFactory floor mats1SA Option Package Air Conditioning Vanity Visor Cruise Control Power Door Locks Power Mirrors There are a few upgrades that I have done to the car. I have replaced the original AM/FM Cassette with an Monsoon AM/FM CD from a later Firebird. It looks completely stock like it was supposed to be there. Additionally, this particular radio was set up for a CD Changer. I have used the CD Changer port to hook up an iPod/iPhone adapter. It works great. I have hidden the cable in the left ash tray. The up/down on the radio will control the iPod/iPhone. Additionally, I acquired all of the components to upgrade to the factory Performance Sound option that the car didn't originally come with. I used a new subwoofer from Rodney Dickman. It all sounds great. While I was installing the Performance sound enclosure, I replaced the four speakers with new speakers from Kicker. I have also installed a Homelink garage door opener from a Cadillac in the plate next to the cigarette lighter. It fits perfectly and looks like it was meant to be there. The car's previous owner installed the extremely rare new Borla Cat-back exhaust system. Any Fiero owner will tell you that it is nearly impossible to find. Those things are the 1% that are not original. Everything else is. The car has had the A/C system recently redone. I installed a new compressor, dryer, orifice tube, and flushed all of the lines. It was then recharged. It is ice cold. I have also recently recovered the headliner and sun visors. This car is in excellent shape, especially considering it is 24 years old. If there is anything negative to say about it, it would be that there are a few paint chips and scratches which are to be expected from a 24 year old car. The spoiler was repainted at some point in the past. There is a light scratch through the left quarter window. The car has a few typical Fiero issues. The window and door tracks need to be cleaned. This is an easy job. I have a set of brand glass seals (dew wipes) that will be included in the sale. They need to be changed which is the perfect time to clean the window tracks. Also, I have every receipt from anything done to this car for the past 24 years going all the way back to the sticker and the first oil change. The records are 100% complete. This Fiero is perfect for somebody who wants an unmolested original or for somebody who has a high performance engine swap in mind. If you are going to swap a high performance engine into a Fiero, why not start with an 1988 GT? Please feel free to email me with questions. This car is located in The Woodlands, TX which is a northern suburb of Houston. Thanks for looking and good luck.
