Vehicle Detail

Hello, up for bids is my 1966 Chevrolet El Camino. I purchased this vehicle about 5 months ago up in Iowa. It had been in a storage barn up there since the 80's so the car is well preserved. I brought it back to Ohio with the intent to restore it back to original and make a decent driver quality car out of it. Well as you know, life has a funny way of throwing you curve balls. I have gone blind in one eye and the other eye is struggling, so driving for me is not really as fun as it used to be to say the least. We ran the numbers and verified that the 327 is original to the car. It was a special order vehicle with factory air and factory power steering which was rare for the El Caminos of this year. Originally, the car was white with blue interior, but was restored in the early 80's. The red paint is faded and will probably need to be re-done. The black interior is nice. No tears on the dash or door panels. The seat is nice but not correct to the car. I believe it's out of a Monte Carlo or some other GM car. The heat/air controls are all there and slide around. It was originally column shift but someone put a B&M floor shifter in along the way. There is also a set of parts store gauges mounted to the bottom of the dash so no holes will show if/when they are removed. The steering wheel is the original wood style and is in nice shape, no cracks. The previous owner said the hood was louvered some time in the 80s. They are the older style rounded kind and are very straight. Car has the original rally wheels on it. It comes with brand new in the box trim rings. It has 3 of the 4 center caps. 1 was missing when we got it. The chassis / body is extremely solid and rust free. There is some slight bubbling under the paint around the rear wheel openings. Those are the only spots we've been able to find. My son removed the engine and transmission to rebuild them. The motor was torn down to the block and sent to a machine shop. They checked it for cracks, verified the block was solid and did a complete cleaning/bore job. New seals/freeze plugs were installed. The block is currently coated in oil and shrinkwrapped waiting to be put back together. The auction also includes brand new correct valve covers and air cleaner. Nothing was done with the transmission. All parts removed will come with the car. I'm sure I'm leaving out some details so if you have any questions, please contact my son. His name is Zac. You can reach him at 513-509-9965 or email him at rockabillysoul@yahoo.com. The last couple pictures are of the car when it came out of the barn in Iowa. The car is located approx. 25 miles north of Cincinnati, Ohio and is available for inspection by appointment. Winning bidder is responsible for transportation. We can help load if necessary. A $500 deposit is required within 48hrs after auction end. Full payment is due within 7 days. I reserve the right to end the auction early. Thanks and good luck!s
