Vehicle Detail

This is one quick 1985 Monte Carlo SS that I really hate to part with. Putting down around 400HP through a rock solid driveline, you know there is plenty of fun to be had with this car. The overall condition is very good and the engine and transmission have been completely rebuilt and upgraded within the last 2 years (full details are further down the page). Tires have very good tread, brakes work great, the body and frame are solid, however there are a few minor dings and a small rust spot on the rear quarter panel and on the inside corner of the passenger door (see pics). The car has the original Maroon paint which has faded and cracked in spots over the years, so a new paint job would be recommended. The interior is in clean and good shape with only one chip on the center console storage bin (see pic). The floor pan sheet metal will eventually need replacing as it has rusted over the years and is starting to come through the carpet on one spot on the driver's side (see pic). There is some wear and color fading on the seats, as well as a tear on the driver's seat leather (see pic). All electronics and gauges are functioning correctly with the exception of the oil pressure gauge. The engine does have very good oil pressure though, around 40PSI when last tested. There is no A/C and the original computer/PCM is no longer connected as the engine is setup for full carburetion for maximum horsepower. The original speedometer wasn't functional when I received the car, so the actual mileage is indeterminable. The original 85MPH speedometer has been recently replaced with an aftermarket 140MPH gauge and the mileage numbers were left at zero on the new gauge at that time. I would estimate that there is a little more than 100,000 miles on the car itself prior to the recent drivetrain rebuild. There have been very few miles put on the car since the complete engine and transmission rebuild as the car has spent most of its time in the garage since I have owned it. This car is a very solid runner and will provide years of fast, fun, as well as reliable transportation. The car has just been cleaned inside and out, has had a fresh oil change, and is ready to go. There has been a lot of time and money invested into to this car making it worth much more than what I am asking for it. My loss is your gain and you would be hard pressed to find a muscle car that runs this strong with this much power for the price. Here are the full engine and transmission specs so you know exactly what you are getting. . .
