I am listing this 1989 BMW M3 for my friend who is not very eBay savvy. My friend has owned this M3 since 2003 and has spared no expense in its maintenance and upkeep. The car is completely original with no modifications. The car has never had any rust and still retains its original Alpine White factory paint with the exception of the driver’s side rocker panel which was repaired after a minor accident in 2001. Despite the minor nature of the damage, the insurance company totaled the car since, at the time, these cars had little value. My friend purchased the car from an M3 specialist who completed all repairs to the highest level. All original VIN tags are in place. The paint is in remarkably good shape and still has a wonderful shine. This car has never been restored and is remarkably original and complete, showing only minimal wear. All original equipment and accessories are with the car, including owner’s and service manuals, jack, spare and toolkit. Other than the addition of 16” BWW M3 wheels, the exterior is as it left the factory. The interior, like the exterior, is all original, including the seats, carpets, headliner, floormats and radio. The engine has had absolutely no modifications. The car currently has 89,345 original miles. My friend has all service records from his ownership. This is a very pleasurable car to drive and a very nice example of the first generation M3 with excellent all-around capability. All switches, gauges and systems function properly and as designed. Whenever replacement parts were necessary my friend used only original BMW. This car has always been in moderate climates and has been properly stored when not used. This included a heated and humidity controlled garage. Looking at and driving this M3, it is evident that it has always been treated with the respect and care it deserves. I will be happy to put an interested buyer in touch with the owner who would welcome any inspections. This is a very nice car. On Jan-28-12 at 03:52:14 PST, seller added the following information: Understandably, many people want to know about the extent of the damage and why such a nice car would have a rebuilt title. I can't say definitively, but my friend saw the car before it was repaired, and says that the damage was minimal and limited to the driver's side rocker panel area.
