For sale we have a 2000 Honda Insight Electric Hybrid. By far this 1st generation has to be the best hybrid out there that gets whopping 70 MPG! That is what the factory rates them; however I've personally driven the car and I was getting 54-55 mpg being a heavy footer. The car runs and drives excellent. The motor starts right up and it sounds healthy. The main battery is charging 100%. The transmission is perfect, there are no syncro problems there are no through out bearing problems which are very common on these insights. The clutch grabs strong and it goes thru gears like a piece of cake and you can down shift nice and smooth with no syncro problems. What I like about this car is that the body and the frame is all aluminum so it will never rust out. When I got the car, the front hood and parts of the body were starting to have the paint fade away. So with that said I brought the car to a body shop and I painted the whole car and gave it a nice clear coat as well. The car never had any dents before, so the body was never touched, there is no bondo or anything like that on the body it was simply paint fading away so it now has a new paint. With that said there are no scratches on the body. The inside is very clean as well. I would rate the inside 9 out of 10. Everything works good, including the factory A/C! The bridgestone tires are in great shape with plenty of tread left on them. Over all a great running insight with a lot of reliable years to come! 79-K Miles.
