Up for auction is this very rare 1968 Dodge Charger. This is not just a regular 1968 Dodge Charger, it is a numbers matching, Factory Hurst 4 speed, big block 383 V8 car with factory air conditioning! This car was stored inside for a couple of years and I recently got it back on the road and had my mechanic do all the basics...oil change...plugs...new coil etc etc...and it runs and drives real good! This is one of 259 383 4 speed cars built in early 1968 as it has many of the early features. Reading from the factory build plate: Console Bucket seats Sold/Ordered car AM Radio Tinted windows (A/C cars) Sure Grip rear End Black Charger interior Burgundy metallic exterior (Quick re-spray about 2 years ago.) 383 4 barrel 4 speed/Hurst shifter May 15th build date. As well as being a factory air conditioning car, it is also equipped with factory power steering. This car runs and drives really strong. It is FAST and there are no horrible knocks or whines. Brakes are excellent and it stops in s straight line. Interior is very good, with good carpets and headlining. New battery (although it will need the battery tray replaced as old one is rusted...but the new tray in box is included), New MSD ignition system fitted. The paint job is not the best, but it has held up quite well over the years. Car is located in Burbank, California. I reserve the right to end this car early as it is also advertised locally. On Jan-18-12 at 10:22:07 PST, seller added the following information: Update on charger. The gauges seem not to be working, only the oil pressure gauge works. The temp gauge appears to be broken and we are not getting any ignition lights when the car is switched on. I can only assume that a fuse has blown somewhere. The car runs and drives sweet and all the lights work. However the headlight doors (pop ups) are not working. Will need a set of door locks and keys as the keys we have only do the ignition and trunk. The horn does not work and the foot brake release handle will need to be replaced ( the footbrake does work ) it's missing a couple of emblems (rear 'charger' emblem off trunk and the interior 'charger' emblem above the glove box) I didn't point out that this charger has a tic-toc-tach fitted as factory, not working either at the moment so I assume it has something to do with the fuses. This is a VERY RARE CAR with many factory options. Overall the car is very very nice but not perfect. Hence the low reserve.
