Vehicle Detail

Up for sale is my 1984 AMG, Orient Red 500SE. 124,500 miles. Originally imported from France, the build was completed in Europe (not by AMG) before being imported Stateside, bought by a doctor in Arizona - this car has resided in Arizona and California most of it's life and came to New York a year and a half ago. This is the short wheel base version of the saloon and far more unique for it. VIN is WDB12603612037270; EBay does not recognise this since it is European. This is a very fast 500SE - faster than other models: It has straight pipes, a magnaflow muffler and a 3.27 rear diff and it wheelspins from start. The car is lowered on AMG springs and shocks, and has a firm ride. The car passed emissions in LA; the smog pump was removed before coming to NY.The interior has Gen 2 (older model) leather along with new burl wood. It also has new door cards and pillars. The engine runs very strong and fires up immediately the ignition turns. The transmission runs very smooth, no problems with this. The aircon was working over the summer and blew cool air. New brake pads, including emercency break - the car passed NY inspection 6 months ago. The Good:AMG ground effects, rear spolier, lowered springs, with Bilstein shocks3.27 rear diffStrong engine (no AMG cams, sorry)The Bad:Paint is fading, but still waxes out well Rear window needs resealing - if you want me to have this work done, i can do so, but there is a cost involved. This car was my project car and still needs some work, but overall it's in decent shape. Reluctant to let it go, but I live in NYC so it's difficult to hoard cars.
