Vehicle Detail
I have decided I finally need to let go of my 1993 Dodge Cummins. I have dumped a lot of money into this vehicle and I hate to let it go, but I have come to the realization I will be driving over 40,000 miles this year and need something that gets better then 20mpg. As far as recent add ons to the truck, there's a new injection pump, new head gasket, rebuilt transmission, new warn locking front hubs, new wheels, new tires and a new straight pipe three inch exhaust. What I am asking for as a reserve is basically what I have invested in new parts, so essentially you're getting the truck as a whole for free. The truck does has it's share of issues, but nothing major. It has dents and dings on the passenger side of the truck, the roof is faded. The heat grid has gone out in the truck which really isn't a big deal, it just take a while longer to start in the morning. The block heater just went out the other day as well, but it's a 30 dollar part and a five minute fix. As far as performance parts go, I'm really not sure what has been done to the truck. It smokes a lot under acceleration which leads me to believe it has injectors, but I could be wrong. The fuel pin has been turned 90 degrees and a smoke screw has been installed as well. Recently while driving, blue smoke began coming out of the exhaust which I've been told is normal for a 12 vavle with nearly 300,00 miles, but I'm trying to be 100 percent honest about everything that is wrong with the truck and everything I know about the truck. It runs phenomenal and has been for the entirety of the time I've owned it, however, yesterday a injector stopped working on me and the truck essentially lost power. A new injector is 80 bucks and to get it installed is around 100 bucks. Now I can get this fixed for the buyer, but it will be added on to sale price. I repeat, it's only a injector, it's really not a big deal whatsoever, its a 80 dollar part that takes 5 minutes to change. You can either have me get it fixed, or tow the truck home. If you have any question, don't hesitate to ask me. I am fairly knowledgeable and can answer any question you may have.On Jan-18-12 at 12:57:12 PST, seller added the following information: Just an update on the truck. I'm having a certified ASE Diesel mechanic look at the truck and give me a price to have it fixed. Our area was hit with a major snowstorm last night and the temperature dropped to almost 0. As you know, the old 12 valves are hard to start in the morning, complicate the hard starting with the fact the block heater went out and a injector isn't working properly, I can't get it started. I will hopefully have the injector fixed by 01/19/12. I just want everyone to know when the injector broke, the truck stayed running, it was able to idle and I was able to drive 5 miles home with it broken. Granted it was smoking a lot and had little power, I was still able to get it home. This should assure any potential buyer the problem isn't serious. If it was, the truck wouldn't of been able to stay running, drive home or idle. I even let the truck sit overnight and it started the next morning. If you have any questions regarding any of these issues, please contact me before the auction ends. Once the auction ends, the buyer takes all responsibility for the truck. If you want to inspect the truck yourself, I'm located in Klamath Falls, OR, about 80 miles away from Interstate 5. My reserve is set at 4,000, this will at least cover my expenses for all of the new and rebuilt parts on the truck. I will in the end lose money, but at this point the truck is just sitting and collecting dust. I would hate to let this truck go to waste.
