Vehicle Detail
Just finished this SHORT BED. 4 years have gone into restoring this truck, not full time of coarse. The truck was taken off the frame and a Camaro 10 bolt drum rear brakes was installed and Camaro disc up front as well as a sway bar kit on the original straight axle. A power steering kit as well as a power brake kit was installed. A fresh 350 Chevy with a 350 turbo trans with a mild shift kit. A Edelbrock 4 barrel carb with electric choke was added also. I didn't hook up the electric choke as it seems not to be needed, the truck starts well with it unhooked and idles down when warmed up. I also didn't hook up the trans kick down cable to the carb, didn't find the bracket for that. This truck was just finished a couple weeks ago and the tires don't even have 20 miles on them as well as the new American 17" torq Thrust wheels. The paint is a single stage white from Summit Racing and there is some left that will go with the truck. The truck was clear coated and then color sanded to a mirror finish. The door skins are new and were fitted with great care, this truck is so straight it's scary. One of the things to look for when buying any restored vehicle is the gaps from doors, hood etc. THE GAPS ON THIS TRUCK ARE PERFECT. The doors shut easily. NOW FOR THE GOOD STUFF, here is what is new on this truck and all these parts were purchased from "The Truck Shop" in Orange, Ca. Every knob, mirror, window frame, window crank, hinge, badge, grill, light rings, weatherstripping, window moulding, all windows, armrest, gas tank, brake kit, tail lights, and most of the nuts and bolts. Those parts alone were thousands and thousands of dollars. The shift lever is a kit that makes the automatic look like an original floor shift and that is new also. Air shocks in rear and standard in front. The bed is all new stained oak with stainless trim and when looking at an old truck like this look at how nice the inside of the bed looks especiall the sides and how straight they are, these sides are perfect. The only thing that isn't new is the instrument cluster as it is in fantastic condition and everything works on it and also the front and rear bumpers which are also in fantastic shape. The original radio doesn't work but there is a sterio mounted in the glove box. Dyna Matt was installed in the cab before the carpet was put down. I purchased a carpet kit from Retro-Resto, it was a challenge to lay flat around the small hump and could use a little more work there and there is a very small ding by RR wheel well which I chose just to touch up and it is shown in a closeup pick. What else can I say, this is a stunning truck you can show or just drive. Oh, there is a moulding for the inside of the front window that will come with the truck, it was forgot about when the dash was painted and it was forgotten, it nees a little work befor painting or chroming. Most won't even know it's missing. You couldn't build this for what I'm asking. Please feel free to email me any questions or if you would like larger pics sent to your email address, this picture format does not do this truck justice. The truck is a shortbed also and there are other numerous new parts not listed. The one main thing you can't really see is HOW WELL THIS REUCK WAS BLOCK SANDED before paint, there is NOT ONE WAVEY SPOT ANYWHERE. The paint was applied and then color sanded until a mirror finish, that alone would cost no less than $10,000 to have done. You can't build this truck for the starting bid unless you do everything yourself.
