Vehicle Detail
1969 Jeep Wagoneer Custom. an FSJ. this is the 1414X model. factory buckets, and floor shifter/console. factory Buick 350 for '69 and Turbo 400/Dana 20. 4 barrel intake/Holley 4175. turbine mags. runs, drives,is currently plated and insured. i got this out of Colorado,it came out of Oregon before that. it's a 43 year old survivor. solid overall shape. rear quarters are soft, passenger side is worse as when i got it the tailpipe was rusted off and pointing at the inner lower quarter.the drivers floor needs a patch. the exhaust is fixed,it's not a gas chamber anymore, although a nice dual exhaust would surely free up some horsepower. it is NOT rust-belt rusty. i put several hundred miles on it this fall. runs and drives very nice. was getting a hair over 15mpg's with it,before cold weather and winter blend gas arrived. 4X4 works. air shocks in rear. it's a cool car. cool interior. much cooler than an average wagoneer. this car could be driven home. you could restore it,a great candidate.or just drive it. power steering, power brakes. tilt column. people look at it. carpet is trash. most stuff works. some of it erratically. the gas gauge and t-case lights come and go,likely due to crusty connections. the headlights would blink after a while,i put a new dimmer in. i was going to relay them and take the load off the light switch, but haven't done it yet. the rear side window rail detaches. not a problem as long as you don't try to roll it down. like i said,a 43 year old survivor. back window works,is sluggish going up due to old crappy weatherstrip. clock will tick a short while then stop. the paint is crap,it got a repaint at some point. i recently put better bumpers on it to replace the rusted bent ones. see the couple pics with the clean bumper front and back.. looks much nicer. the only butchery on the car i've found is the steering bracket. they commonly crack on these and require repair. some are better than others. this one, while robust,is pretty ugly. the steering is tight, but the steering shaft angle to the column is a bit harsh. it needs to be repaired back to a more stockish condition. the signal cancel does not work. the little plastic cam in the column broke. the crappy aftermarket radio does not work. the tailgate is a bit crusty along the inner bottom. if you're looking at this, you likely know what it is,and what it'll need. it is a fun classic to drive. it was 10 degrees today, and popped right off after sitting a few weeks. it needs a tune up,wires are crappy and it misses a bit when cold, then smoothes out when warm. engine is a smooth quiet runner,it does clatter a few seconds on start up til oil pressure comes up. the oil light never flickers, even hot idling in gear. i'm not going to tell you it's rare, that's up to the buyer. as is it's value. this is a no reserve auction,1 cent opener. the top bid takes it. you decide its' value. if you want to pay with paypal the buyer covers any fees. this isn't a piece of crap hauled out of the weeds and lipsticked up. it's licensed, insured, and drives. but it is a project. an easier one. one you can drive home. a lot of the things requiring attention need just some time and care invested. many pics and a few videos here. http://s453.photobucket.com/albums/qq258/Ristow71/69%20Wag/
