Vehicle Detail
Hello! I am moving across the country and want to see if there's any interest in my car. I love this car, if it doesn't sell then it's coming with me. Here is your chance to purchase an un-molested and almost stock M3. Like others, I couldn't decide between an e36M or the e46M, but after driving both I liked the e36. This car, with it's stock suspension at the time, felt way more connected to the road than the e46M did. I bought this car March 09 from another BMW enthusiast. I searched for months for the right car, one that had fairly low milage, one that had been garage kept, and most importantly, one that had been taken care of. These cars are extremely reliable; but if not taken care of, bad things can happen. I also didn't want a ripped drivers seat, which almost every car seemed to have. I located this one on the BMWCCA website and after a few emails back and forth, I flew to Ohio and bought my high school dream car. Here is what he told me, I'm also wanted a car with documented history. Or least one that could be vouched for. This was his email: Hello - I am the 3rd owner. I have had the car since September 2007 and put 28,000miles on it or so as a second "fair weather car." My commute to work is 82mi a day, all highway against traffic so the miles add up fast! This is my 3rd E36 M3 (I also have an '89 E30 M3 project car,) and I am a bit of an M enthusiast. I am an automotive engineer for Honda R&D and I do all my own maintenance so I do not have dealer service records, however I do keep very detailed records of my own which I will pass on to the seller. I purchased it from an M3 enthusiast in Massachusetts who put about 6k a year on the car driving it only in summer and storing it during the winter. He was also very rigorous about service and maintenance and I have all of his records. The car was well take care of and I had high confidence in buying it. The car is still available and is really a fine example. I spent some time finding this car and it is in excellent condition. I have the full CarFAX report on hand... no incidents or accidents. I drove it home, and immediately started ordering new parts from the major suppliers - Turner Motor-sports, Pelican, Bavarian Auto-sport, etc. I have a master parts sheet that I wanted to copy and paste, I will post shortly or can email. I have spent over $4600 in parts, not including labor. With the exception of the clutch which grabs very well, almost everything has been replaced with OEM or better. Some highlights: New cooling system installed by RRT, a very well known local BMW race shop. New headlights and fog-lights. New Bilstein coil-overs. New rotors and pads. New motor and transmission mounts. New RTABs. New trailing arm bushings. New stainless brake lines. New stainless steel pedals. New OEM shift knob. New shift boot and e-brake boot with Modena stitching. The LTW rims are in SUPURB shape and have almost zero road rash. Tires have plenty of tread. I also had the car detailed, which really brings out the beautiful metallic green. To match the detail, I had the front bumper and nose re-sprayed by a local body-shop that does work for Ferrari of Wash DC. They shop has high standards. The pics don't reflect the bumper respray, and I have replaced the smoked corners with amber corners. I can send new pics. I have always garaged the car and never driven in rain or snow, she only comes out on sunny days. I have never tracked the car either. It has the manual, original window sticker (awesome!), and 2 sets of keys. You want 2 sets of keys. I live right next to Dulles Airport, which is 30 miles outside Wash DC in case you want to fly and drive the car home. Buy with confidence, I sold my s2000 and my Land Rover on ebay. I also sold my 350z on a forum and a worked with the buyer to ship it covered transport. I can do so with this car, should that be helpful. Yes - you can buy a $7k M3 and there are many out there. They will likely need body and mechanical work. I strongly believe this is one of best the examples around and priced accordingly. I think that's it for now, please let me know any questions and I will respond promptly. Thank you! Fine print.
