This auction is for a 1966 AMC Rambler Ambassador. It is being sold with a starting bid of $700 and NO RESERVE. I bought this car in the summer of 2011, but decided that I have too many projects. This car was purchased new at Lee's Garage in Dickinson ND in October of 1965 by a farmer and has stayed in western ND its entire life. When I purchased the car this summer, I became the second owner. The title that was signed over to me was the original title. I have switched the title to my name. I have registered the car with ND pioneer license plates. The car is in very good condition with no rust through whatsoever and very minor surface rust. The only surface rust on the outside of the car is where rocks have chipped the paint. There is also some surface rust in the trunk under the mat. The paint has what appears to be stains from tree sap being on it at some time. I polished a spot on the hood and trunk lid with some turtle wax polish and it came out looking as good as new. This is all that I have done as far as cleaning the car at this point. It has 2-tone paint, the roof is a light silver color. Both front and rear bumpers are bent, but should be able to be straightened. The taillights are broken. I have a pair that I believe came from a wagon. They are slightly different, but I think they will work if the entire housing is switched. The interior is in very good shape for its age. The drivers seat is ripped up. The headliner has NO holes in it. The carpet does have some rips and holes. The radio works and all controls appear to be intact except for the passenger side recliner handle has the end broke off. There is no sign of mice ever being in any part of this car. The 327 V8 engine seems to start good and run strong. I have only driven it around the yard because there is a frost plug leaking, so there is no water in the engine. I had it running from a lawn mower gas tank under the hood, because I have not had a chance to find out if there is rust in the tank or not. Also, the brakes need attention, there is no stopping action whatsoever. The tires are old and weather checked and the passenger side tires do not hold air for very long. All the doors and windows open and close very well. All the glass is good except for one chip in the bottom passenger side corner of the windshield. I believe the only trim piece missing is the passenger side rocker panel. That is all I can think of to tell you. I am no expert on these, but this one seems to be in very good condition for the year and for my asking price. Let me know if you need more information or pictures. About a month ago, I stored the car for the winter at a friends farm about 10 miles from town. There is currently no battery or gas in the car. I will be able to haul the car to town to make pick-up easier. There is currently no snow here in Bowman ND, so that should make loading easier. This car is located in Bowman, North Dakota, 58623. For payment, I will accept a check or cash. However, I do require an immediate paypal deposit of $100 unless other arrangments are made with me before the end of the auction. If paying by check you must allow time for it to clear the bank before the item is picked up. This car must be picked up by Febuary 1st 2012 unless other arrangments are made with me.
