Vehicle Detail
PLEASE READ THIS WHOLE DESCRIPTION BEFORE BIDDING This is a 1992 300zx twin turbo, it is quite a fast car but does have some issues. The engine runs super strong, but it does smoke some blue under acceleration. I've driven this car about a hundred miles and during the time the smoking has become less and less but has not completely gone away. Not sure what is causing it but it is there. Other than that this engine seems solid, the timing belt and 4 injectors were replaced a few months ago so the maintenance is up to date. The transmission shifts well except for 4th gear. 4th gear has a grind under hard acceleration, normal acceleration and downshifting is fine, but if the car is being run hard then 4th grinds. Other than those issues this car runs quite well and is a blast to drive. the mods done to the drivetrain are a fully Greddy turboback exhaust system, a k&n intake and the ECU has been chipped. The other thing that needs to be mentioned is that the right hand intercooler was damaged when we got the car, we had to remove it because the tanks were cracked so we put a pipe in its place for now. A replacement intercooler should be installed, the driver's side one is fine. It needs to be noted that the tires are undersized for this car (225/50/16) and they are very dryrotted. They are bad enough that I would not drive very far on them at all, they should be replaced before the car is put on the road. The suspension on this car has also been updated, it has KYB AGX shocks with Tein springs, the car does sit quite low and that is probably why the front bumper has been damaged. The interior is actually not all that bad, some stitching on the drivers seat has come undone, and the trunk mat is missing, otherwise it is not too bad. There is a JVC headunit installed, please look at the pictures for a good idea of the interior condition. Please note: The AC system was removed the last owner, so the evaporator, condensor, AC compressor and all AC lines have been removed. So there really is no AC system in the car, the heater core is still there and hooked up so it should work. Please take a good look at the pictures of the body of this car. This car has been involved in an accident at some point and it sustained some damage that was not repaired properly. The driver's side shock tower was rewelded but not done properly, please look at the picture. Also the rear passenger quarter panel could be reworked for a better fit by the taillight, please look at the picture for a good idea of what I'm talking about. The structural part of this body is fine, but the panels have had some damage. Please make sure to study the pictures and if you have questions please call. This car goes down the road straight and feels solid so I don't believe that the damage ever got into the structure of the car. Overall this car has some issues but it has some serious potential. The body is not too bad and the engine runs incredibly well, but please make note of the known issues. For someone who knows how to work on these this would be a great cheap way into a turbo car.
