Vehicle Detail
I have procrastinated putting my Goldwing on ebay, because I hate to give it up. I have decided to retire and to lessen my debt burden, so I'm selling my cherished Wing...sob, sob. I have had numerous bikes all my life, anything from sport bikes six years ago, to a VMax to a Valkyrie and finally to a Goldwing. I never thought I'd be on Goldwing, but now I can't believe I didn't start sooner. This is one fantastic bike! Single sided swingarm, all aluminum frame, a 6 cylinder engine that is SO smooth and powerful, most folks just don't realize the technology that goes into this bike. Honda even has it in the lobby of their headquarters in Japan, they are so proud of it. My younger buds at work make fun of the "sofa on wheels", but when I ride to work when it's only 45 degrees outside and they have already put their bikes away for the winter, I just smile. The bike has all the amenities for touring: Heated grips and heated seats front and back separately controlledBuild in communication system with your passengerSix speaker, 80 watt/channel stereo (it rocks!)CD/AM/FM/ AUX (for ipod, but you have to buy the interface separate)CB Radio ready (I installed the factory CB Radio antenna after I bought the bike, but I don't have the CB) Navigation (Saved me a few times)Power adjustable headlights level, and rear shock heightLinked braking systemFog Lights Rear spoiler wing over the luggage compartment with bright LED lights ($147) Power adjustable headlamps and rear shockKurayaken folding/adjustable highway pegsKurayaken chrome shark gill slits over the radiator ventsXM/Sirius Radio Ready (all connections provided, but I never connected a radio up to it)Battery Tender charger plug hookup or can be used for heated clothing DC source (These I installed) I keep all my bikes garaged and hooked up to a battery tender. The Wing has never been laid down, crashed, wrecked or abused. You can see by the photos that the bike is in immaculate condition. There are no dents, scratches, or dings (Note: I covered the tank area and front lower cowling with 3M film to prevent any scratching, see the photos). The remaining 3M film never got put on, but it goes with the bike (I paid $108 for it). I don't ride in the rain (remember I'm in NM) and used the bike to ride to work (27 miles each way). Also, I cover the bike while at work (I'm a perfectionist)! I have ridden on three trips to Colorado and Arizona at 1000 miles each trip. I purchased the bike used on ebay in May 2009 with 1,878 miles on it. The seller was getting a divorce and had to sell the bike. The bike came from Toledo, Ohio and I had it shipped out to me. It was practically brand new. I have done all the maintenance on the bike: oil/filter changes (changes were done at 790, 1490, 1,900, 4993, 8486, and 10,836 miles), rear gear differential oil changes, brake/clutch fluid change, and tire change (New Dunlop Elites 3's front and rear put on at 9,700 miles, these cost $300). I have all my receipts and documents for maintenance. The front left fork seal developed some oil seepage, so I changed out the seal on it back in November. I have not had any problems with the bike what so ever other than that (remember this is a Honda!). It's so funny, I toured with a friend on a Harley, and he keeps a Harley Davidson factory service manual with him for the breakdowns. Good luck in bidding and have confidence in buying (see my feedbacks on past bikes sold). I just sold a 2001 Honda RC51, and the buyer drove for 15 hours straight from Houston to NM. He was floored at the condition of the bike and said" it looks better in person". I take care of my stuff and you won't be disappointed should you win the bid. Thanks for looking. Ron.
