Vehicle Detail
Try finding an old Honda in this good of shape! This is a 1984 Honda Accord, 1.8l, with a 5 speed manual transmission. This car is in incredible shape, I believe it is a one owner car. The engine is in great shape, runs very well. Please note that this engine is carburated and if you aren't used to a carburator they do like to warm up for a minute before taking off. This car starts right up, no smoke, no noises from the engine. The transmission is geared very well for this car, you should be able to get around 35mpg with this car. Transmission shifts well, 5th gear does whine none of the other gears whine. The clutch feels to be in great shape, this clutch has a cable instead of hydraulic components to disengage it which is nice because thats one less thing to think about going bad. The alternator and radiator have both been recently replaced, cooling and charging systems are both operating well. The interior is in great shape, there is some fading on the steering wheel, otherwise the dash, door panels seats and carpet have all retained their color very well and are in excellent shape. All vents and other plastic pieces are still there and in good shape, no damage. The radio has been updated to a JVC cd player, I forgot to put the faceplate back on for the pictures but it does operate and is there. All power options such as windows, locks, and cruise work well. The AC system works well, the compressor was replaced by the last owner and the system was changed over to R134. The power steering works well The body of this car is in great shape for being as old as it is, NO RUST anywhere on this car! The paint still shines and looks great. The hood appears to have been opened too far at some point and there is a larger gap between the front edge of the hood and the grille support. It does not affect anything, hood still closes perfectly well, just a slightly larger gap. There is also one quarter sized ding on top of the trunk lid where it appears something was dropped on it. Also the grille area on top of the headlights has many light rock chips in the paint, that would be an easy fix and may not be noticeable in the photos. The radio antenna also has a broken mast, that should be an easy fix or replace it with an aftermarket unit. Other than those few things there is no damage to the body of the car. This car drives straight and true, the suspension feels good. The front tires are new, the rear ones are mismatched, one being newer and the other is a bit old and should probably be replaced soon. Overall this car has been amazingly preserved for all this time, I've never even seen an old Honda like this let alone one in this good of condition, it seems that all proper maintenance has been taken care of by the previous owner, it would be great to see this car go to someone who can appreciate it and keep taking great care of it.
