Vehicle Detail
I am selling our 1997 model Camry since our family of 5 has now outgrown it. It was bought new in 1996 by my mother in-law and when she passed away in 2003/2004, I drove it for the first time and was then hooked. I bought it from my father in-law right away and it had about 75,000 miles on it. I had planned to keep it for a few months. Well, 8 years later and almost another 150,000 miles, it's time for this car to find a new home and owner. I'll do my best to describe the history and all plusses and minuses but please, feel free to to ask questions or if you are local, schedule a time to come see and test drive. The car has never been smoked in. The car starts, runs, idles, accelerates, shifts, brakes, and steers flawlessly. All lights, heat, AC, horn, cruise control, wipers (intermittant) & sprayer, front and rear defrosters, horn, cigarette lighter and accessory power plug, electric windows and mirrors, pioneer stereo/cd player work just like they should. Comes with wheel locks and lock. The title is clear. Tires are still very good with plently of treat on all 4 and the spare also. No rust that I can see anywhere. It just passed the NJ inspection in 2011 and good through 2013. It has been maintained on schedule It has a new exhaust system from the catylitic converter back (front part was replaced a few years ago) and a new Interstate battery. This is a great car all the way around! Drives smoothly at any/all speeds and still has plenty of power/spunk.There have been 3 fender benders over the years, repairs have been made except the last one a few months ago where someone was texting while driving (admitted) hit from from behind lightly and cracked the plastic on the rear bumber in a few places as shown in the photos. It's barely noticable since the car is a dark color but wanted to be sure potential buyers know. This caused the left rear panel to expand just slighly but again, it's barely noticable. Also, I add a canister of AC fluid every summer to ensure comfort through the season. The car does not burn oil but does have an oil drip/leak for the past 5 years or so. I add a quart about every month. There is a nick in the windshield the size of a pea or less and there are some scrathes on the paint and a few small dings here and there (nothing significant). Occasionally, the brake light will come on and stay on then just go out. I have the maintenence records and all the books/manuals that came with the car when new. We have used this car to haul little kids up though bigger kids so you will notice the seats and carpet are stained in places. I don't think you will be dissappointed. Given the car is 15 years old and has amost 215,000 miles, this car is being sold as is/where is with no implied warranty. I hope you understand. Happy Bidding! This is a no reserve auction. I'd prefer cash payment in full at the time of pick-up within 2 weeks of auction close; other options are available. Unless you are planning to pick-up with 3 days of auction close, I'd appreciate a $250 deposit. If other arrangements are needed for payment, please ask. I have more and can take more photos if necessary.
