1965 Mercedes Benz 230 SL Convertable 45,221 Original Miles! Engine is not matching number, engine was replaced with a 250 SL engine with approximately 10,000 miles less than the chasis. I bought this car for my private collection in Phoenix Az and drove it home to Houston with no problems. I had no problem with the non-matching numbers engine because my cars are drivers cars, not trailer queens, and the 250 SL engine has 7 main bearings verses 5 main bearings for the original 250 SL motor. Also the 250 SL engine has an external oil cooler for extended engine life. This car has met the reserve of $14,000.00 4 times here on ebay, and I am sure it will get there again as these cars are apreciating faster than a lot of other collector cars and are very desirable. No hard top, but they are available if you want one. I am selling all the cars in my collection as I have become disabled and can no longer take care of them as they should be. I have sold 4 so far a 69 Vette for $18,500.00 a Ferrari for $17,500.00, and 2 Porsches. Check my feedback on these cars. I have 21 cars left to sell. What this car needs, new fuel lines, rubber parts leak. Both the seats have some stitching pulled loose, materal is good, not torn, just needs restitching. Good tires (Bridgestones), brakes, engine, & transmission. Everything works except the radio (original Becker). The steering needs a rag joint as the rubber has deteriorated. This is an easy fix, just drop the steering box replace rag joint and reattach steering box. There is about 1" of play in the steering wheel because of this. Car has been repainted once to the cream it now has, was originally Robin's Egg Blue. One ding in the rear to the chrome strip and passanger tail light is broken. Also tach cable broken, will need new cable. I have not registered this car in my name, the title is still in the previous owner's name where he signed the title, I can register it in my name or you can sign the title in your name. I have not registered it because I have had many extended hospital visits, reinfections (staph) rehabilitations, etc. I am sure that is more info than you wanted :).
