With a heavy heart I am forced to sell my beloved 1989 Saab 900 SPG. I bought it December 2010 and got serious about restoring it this summer. Everything mechanical is in top notch condition and completely original. There are no aftermarket or unapproved performance modifications. The car runs sweetly and precisely, and handles better than any other car I've driven. Engine runs extremely well and turbo spools deep into the red and stays there. Ready to drive across the continent reliably.Here is a list of the various parts I've replaced along with the good and bad things in each section:Engine:-all original condition-zero oil consumption -perfect turbo-boosts quickly and precisely-all new consumables (belts, fluids, hoses, ignition components, thermostat, and cleaning)-no leaks of any kind-absolutely smooth and responsive throughout the entire power band)-no vacuum leaks-proper idle-28-32mpg -new crank pulley and front main seal-new alternator -new battery-all components were individually cleaned and serviced when engine was outDrivetrain:-new C/V joints-new inner drivers and tripod bearings, along with boots-new passenger side wheel bearing-gearbox recently replaced with a low mile, quiet and smooth shifting unit -new clutch (master cylinder, slave cylinder, friction disc, resurfaced flywheel, and both bearings)-all transmission gaskets are newSuspension:-new shocks on all corners-new brake pads all corners-completely silent, precise, and solid suspension-steering rack boots are new-steering rack does not leakWheels:-all wheels in perfect condition-no curb rash-no scratching-no varnish or discoloration-tires have about a year or so of life left Exterior:-no dings, rust, or heavy scratches-good paint; still shiny-previous owner was involved in a minor collision at the rear passenger side quarter panel; no structural damage and traces of damage are not visible-hatch doesn't seal too well and requires a replacement of the latch-all bumpers and panels are in fair condition, only needing some refinishing with satin black-all lights work and are in good condition-windshield has a shallow crack; not in driver's visionInterior:-rear seat in perfect condition-carpet has no tears-headliner was replaced, but adhesive failed after a short time and doesn't look too well-dash cracked, but not more so than usual-driver's side automatic seat belt is inoperative, I'd switch to manual seatbelts-driver's side seat has been replaced, but some creases are visible on the seat bottom; purely cosmetic-passenger seat is good, but needs new leather on the backrest (supplied with car)-both seat heaters work-AIR CONDITIONING WORKS ARCTIC COLD!-radio is period correct and works-all gauges work perfectly-currently has a push button start but a new ignition switch should fix the issue-rear parcel shelves need reupholstering to look attractive-everything else is in good, original conditionBody & Frame:-absolutely no rust ANYWHERE!-clean-no warping, scratching or damage-engine bay has been thoroughly cleaned Really, all this car needs is a SPG panel/bumper repaint and some interior work to be perfect. I was completely obsessed with this car and did everything in my strength to restore it and keep it in a perfect, original condition. I personally have never seen a SPG with less than 130K miles for sale. You will never find one like this again!!The car is located in Longmont, CO and is available for viewing at any time.
