Vehicle Detail
This is a 1991 firebird convertible project which I am selling because I no longer have the time, money, and knowledge to finish. There are MANY next to new performance parts in this car. I have "invested" nearly $6500 into parts alone, not to mention the fact that convertibles in this body style are extremely rare and you will find none that have anything bigger than a 305ci sb unless it was altered like this one. I bought the motor from a guy in texas who had it bored 30 over and just needed to finish putting the top end together which I did. The motor should have between 375 and 425HP. I finished the top end and started the motor. I was unable to tune the carb correctly but I was able to break in the cam and drove it around the block a few times. Since then I started a major rewiring process which I fell short to complete so the motor should start again but only after wiring it up for ignition. It has an MSD box, coil, and distributor, the radiator is new, it has shorty headers and a custom exhaust which I built that has not been tested but up on a lift appears to have good enough ground clearance. I bought the transmission from a friend of mine who was parting out his beefed up camaro in order to buy a newer firebird. The trans is a rebuilt 700r4 which should support over 500 HP. He put about 1500 miles on it before he found a great deal on a 93 bird and decided to sell the camaro to help buy the bird. I don't know too much about tranny parts but he said it's got a "Z pack, extra heavy duty clutches, 3K stall and modified valve body". I know he paid $2000 for the rebuild. Also I replaced the original rear end with a 98 camaro SS 3:42 posi rear which now provide disk brakes in the rear (proportioning valve has been installed). I replaced the front and back say bar with new 15/8 in. in font and I believe 1 3/8 in. in back. As for the inside of the car...I pulled out the interior and was planning on replacing the carpet after rewiring so the interior I have but is not currently bolted in. Interior is actually in decent shape. The whole car from top to bottom was actually in good shape a few years ago before I started messing with it. No body rust and only few dings. Paint was fading though and weather stripping and vinyl top should be replaced ( tear in back window). Top was working (may want to replace mechanical parts or adjust to make work better. I bought new big tachometer, gauge pod, and B&M shifter. Any questions please call LEN @ 201-704-4340 or e-mail.
