Vehicle Detail
This bike is a legend. The 1982 Honda CBX Supersport. The "buzzin half-dozen". The "Big Bad Six". The list goes on and on. Its one of the most iconic motorcycles ever built by Honda. Its awesome, and if you are looking at this post, you already knew that, so I will get on with it. Its stock, except for the following: I had the super-duty alternator installed, here's what Tims CBX says: Tims now offers a modern Alternator Conversion- It eliminates the clutches, the regulator rectifier and the brushes will last around 45 k miles and it even charges at idle-- No more break downs or that pesky pinging noise the clutches often produce at low RPMS. $650 for Black or Silver, We now have 100% polished ones with billet logo cap for $795 -limited quantities Mine is the silver, and has been in place about 5,000 miles, so it has plenty of mileage to go. It has a Corbin Seat, maybe 2,000 miles on it, and plenty of life left. I much prefer it to the original seat, but purists would probably not. They would probably also just sit and look at their bike, rather than ride it, This one has been ridden, and it has plenty of miles left. It has about 22,500 miles on it. The speedometer went bad about 500 miles or so ago, and I replaced the whole cluster with a set from CBXMAN, and it also has all the gels on the cluster, which are easily lost. The odometer reads 43,861, but this is not accurate. The bike is currently in winter storage at my local Honda Dealer, and I will provide all the service records from the time I have owned the bike, including oil changes, routine maintenance, etc. all of which will reflect the actual mileage of the bike. It has had an oil leak, but nothing serious. The bike really goes, there is nothing like the ride, the sound, or the looks that you get from everyone on the road. There is no such thing as a five minute trip to the gas station, as everyone who sees it will invariably ask you questions about it, so be ready. I also have an owner's manual, but its a copy of one. I bought the bike with about 14,500 on it, and it didn't come with one. There is no rear grab rail or cover on the left inside pocket of the fairing. It has a few scratches here and there, but nothing that I can get pictures of, although I will keep trying. I have always babied this bike, but it has been in the rain, and the snow, and the desert, and the Florida Keys, and in the Rocky Mountains and on both coasts and both borders. I primarily had the bike towed on a trailer, and I would ride it when I'd stop in a town. It has not been down since I owned it, and I'm passing it on to whoever is next. You won't be disappointed, its a vanishing breed, its iconic, and once you get on, you'll never really be able to get off of it. On Dec-20-11 at 10:14:33 PST, seller added the following information: Just wanted to amend the auction a bit. I will be out of town from Dec 26 to Dec 30, so pick up will have to be after the 30th. I don't think that will affect anyone's bid, but I felt I should make sure everyone knows and understands. Thanks!
