Vehicle Detail
Normal 0 false false false EN-US X-NONE X-NONE MicrosoftInternetExplorer4 I can be available for you or your shipping company to pick up the car and have a very flat parking area with lots of room for a transport truck to pull in and load up. I have bought and sold several cars on EBay and this has worked well for both loading and unloading process. From the VIN Tag. Style: 58-3639SD Body No. 664 Trim 376 Paint 91 90 On Dec-23-11 at 13:00:59 PST, seller added the following information: To all those that have submitted questions, I will try to answer them in words and not pictures because after taking all the pictures I found out (after 10 minutes of arguing with eBay by phone) that a seller cannot change or add pictures to their posting once the first bid has been placed. Sorry, but that eBay, not me. If you want to see a picture of something specific the seller has to send it direct to your personal email. They don't make this easy like they used to on eBay motors. So, as for the car condition: Yes it runs and drives and can be loaded and unloaded on its own power. I drove the car today while getting the new pictures taken. The front floor pans do have some rust as expect for a 1958. I am not claiming it to be rust free, only that it is very solid compared to the others I see of this age. It's is far better than any of my other '58 olds, and my '57 chevy project and my '66 T-Bird. The trunk is solid even including the spare tire area that still has the two original drain holes in tack. All of the door bottoms still have all their original drain holes and were not clogged with junk so the water could drain out from rain storms as it should. The top of the fenders over the headlight where a lot of '58 Olds and Chevy tend to rust are very good condition. Best of all the horn button are all in tack NOT broken and the horn still works. Tried that today for a customer. It was a good question, because all 3 of my other '58 Olds have broken horn buttons. I am leaving this car just as complete as I found it. It was tempting to keep the horn buttons for myself, but I am leaving them with this car. I ran the car today in every gear. I started from a stop in Drive and let the car shift on its on. I also started from a stop and shifted through low, second and drive manually. Don't forget, this is a true Super 88, with the 4 bbl carb motor and the Air Ride Suspension option. How many of you have even seen an Air Ride Olds 88 before? This is my first one that was not already in a museum display. It is also the first one I have seen with a remote adjustable driver mirror and it works, left/right, up/down. That is the handle mechanism shown up close on a door picture. This is a car that you will not see in every car show. If you really want a car that most car guys have never seen, this is one of those type cars. I simply have too many projects and know that I cannot get to it for 5 years. Thanks for reading and good luck bidding. On Dec-24-11 at 10:21:40 PST, seller added the following information: RESERVE HAS BEEN LOWERED. EBAY FOR WHAT EVER REASON DOES NOT CURRENTLY POST THEM TO ANY ADS WHEN LOWERED. NONE OF THE SEARCHES I HAVE RUNNING SHOW A SINGLE AD WITH THE USUAL "SELLER HAS LOWERED THE RESERVE PRICE" BANNER. On Dec-25-11 at 07:55:13 PST, seller added the following information: Reserve has been lowered again: On December 17th I watched Item number:330656209037 close out at $4995 with reserve not met. That was a 4 door standard 88, 2 bbl car with no special options in almost the same exact condition as mine, including the condition of the front seat. It needed complete restoration. So, I decided to put mine up for auction. Maybe the Christmas week was a bad week to try this. Anyway, I lowered mine to $4250 which is a $1000 less than original. Someone is going to get a 4bbl Super 88 with remote driver mirror option and Air Ride Option. It has all four original rims and hubcaps. It has all the horn components NOT broken. This one also has the courtesy lights options under the dash that are still working. The generator is working fine. You can disconnect the battery and it continues to run just fine.
