1953 Mercury Monterey Coupe. Runs, Stops Drives. A little rough around the edges, but replacement panels are cheap ( Rock Auto, Sherman ). Floors and trunk are solid. All glass is great, except for the vent windows. Has the original visor and a brand new set of skirts. Best of all it has the original 1953 Mercury flathead that runs whisper queit. The photos were taken with the engine running. It has a 3speed manual transmission. This car needs attention, but it is a great candidate for restoration or a rat rod. The motor and trans are worth it alone. I have not driven this car on the highway, just around the yard. Needs to be towed. The gas tank gauge says its half full, and the gas does not smell bad, but I did not want to take a chance and fired it up off of a spare gas can. It has a full exhaust system and the picture of the rear is also with the car running. Interior is so so at best, I've driven worse. No headliner, and I took out the carpet to check out the floors. wasn't worth keeping. Says 51,000 on the clock and there is no way to verify, but look at the pedals. could be?
