This impala is a great project with a very nice body. It has no rust with the exception of a small spot in the trunk floor. The body is very straight and a nice fender is included to replace the bent one in the photos. Many other parts are included which are pictured and listed. This is a factory A/C and power window car and also has the optional padded dash. This car does have power brakes and steering also. Also included are the parts to convert it to a power seat and the parts look like they are off another '65 or are accurate to original but I'm not sure. PICTURE LINK: http://s942.photobucket.com/albums/ad267/tutheck5/1965%20impala/ MECHANICAL: This car has 283 fender emblems but the previous owner told me that it now has a 327 in it. I haven't checked the numbers myself and it could be the original motor but I doubt it. If it's important to you, I can check them. The motor runs but need rebuilt. It smokes and will at least need re-ringed, maybe bored depending on how the cylinders look. Besides smoking it sounds fairly normal with no major knocks or anything. I didn't let it run too long because the heater hoses are disconnected. I did move it around some and the powerglide transmission seems to work as it should. The car has A/C, power windows, power brakes, and power steering. The brakes don't work and I'm sure they need bled. The car has a non-posi 10-bolt rear. The wheels in the pics are not included. It comes with stock-type wheels and roller tires. BODY: The body on this car is exceptional for a project and is nearly rust free. The only rust is in the trunk pan on the right side. You can see it in the pics. It could be patched pretty easily, or just put a new pan in. The roof did have some roof pitting from the vinyl top that was sealed with por15 by the previous owner. It feels solid and I checked it over with a magnet. The doors, rear quarters, wheelhouses, front fenders, hood, cowl, dash, trunklid, floorpans, frame, etc. etc. are nice and rust free. The glass is decent with the usual scratches but I couldn't find any chips in the windshield. One wiper arm is gone. One rocker trim piece is not included but an extra drivers side one is. The previous owner had several and accidentally gave me two for the drivers side. I may get the other and can include it but I'm not guaranteeing that will happen. Front bumper is mounted but doesn't look to be adjusted right. All doors open/close properly. Three of the power windows work but one of the rear ones didn't do anything. The three that work are slow and probably need lubed up to work better. The paint looks original for the most part, but a someone sprayed spraypaint on a couple spots for some unknown reason. There is some behind the drivers door on the quarter but there is no rust or bondo there. Only one spot of bondo that I could find and it looks like where a small dent was repaired on the passenger quarter between the door and the rear fenderwell. There is no rust there and no indication that the quarters have every had rust or had work done besides the bondo in the spot mentioned. Fender lips and wheelhouses are very nice. This car was built in California and has an OLD California AAA sticker on it so I believe it was probably in California for a good part of it's life. INTERIOR: The interior is in decent shape and appears to be the original upholstery. It would be usable with a new carpet. The door panels are decent with the exception of speaker holes. Front seat has the usual wear on the drivers side. Rear seat is nice. Carpet is bad. Headliner is actually pretty nice and not separating at the seams like most. Dashpad is curling up on the ends. If your doing a low-budget restoration, it would be presentable with just a carpet and maybe front seat cover. I believe most of the knobs and hardware are still on the car too including the original radio. EXTRA PARTS: A/C stuff and I believe some duplicates, power seat parts, tire jack, extra wiper motor, dust cover, front fender, and other misc. small parts. OVERALL: If your looking for an impala project, this would be a great one. This is a hard to find project this rust free and nice to have one with power options and air.
