Vehicle Detail
1930 Model A Pick Up Truck. This little truck is a super cool ride. You cannot take it anywhere without getting all kinds of thumbs up. With freshly powder coated 16 inch wires and brand new Coker Wide Whitewall tires, it has the look.It is a daily driver. The previous owner said he had the motor rebuilt, a new water pump, as well as the steering gear rebuilt. It runs and drives perfect. It has some upgrades to it to make it have a little more get and go. There is a new three bolt 9 super 7 stromberg style carb with an Anson aluminum intake manifold, The ignition is a Mallory Dual Point distributor that has centrifugal advance set up internally. The truck runs strong. MOTORAs mentioned above, the motor was supposed to be rebuilt, I have some of the reciepts for things like rings, head gasket, stud bolts, etc. It runs strong, starts easily and doesn't smoke. It is till 6 Volt. TRANSMISSIONThe tranny is the original 3 speed with out synchronization. It shifts properly, if you shift it easy it is smooth, if you double clutch it, it is smooth. If you try to shift it hard, it will grind. The clutch engages smoothly. REAR ENDThe third member works fine and doesn't show any signs of needing any attention. BRAKESThe brakes are the original style. They work perfectly as they should. Even the emergency brake works. TIRE & WHEELSThe tires are brand new Coker Wide Whitewalls, 600 16 inch bias plies, front and rear. Wheels are freshly powder coated wire wheels, I believe 1935 Ford. The spare wheel is matching and has been redone as well, the tire is a new blackwall bias ply. BODY & PAINTThe truck is not perfect, it has never been restored. If you wanted a museum restoration it will take some work. The paint is old and has real Patina. The body looks pretty straight but it has had repairs in the past. The front and rear fenders flow nicely, there are some repairs to them as well. The glass is all good and the windows roll up and down. The bed is kind of the same, it looks decent and matches the rest of the truck but for a restoration it would take some work. The tailgate and hardware are good. The roof has been filled from original, it isn't the best job. The doors open and shut easily. The hood and hood sides fit and line up well. All in all it is a pretty complete truck that has never been restored. It is an excellent candidate for a hot rod or for restoration. Or just use it as is and enjoy it. This pickup has been a daily driver for a couple of years now. There are a few things specifically that should be addressed. The headlights and tailights work, but the stop light is hooked to a toggle switch on the dash. I assume the stock one failed, the stock one is there but it has been bypassed. If you know about the switch it isn't a problem, but other drivers may forget. It should be changed. The steering box has been rebuilt and works smooth and has almost no play, however it does leak some. I believe that he used gear oil and I have checked on some forums and the restorers say to use a farmer type grease that is thicker than gear oil but not as thick as bearing grease. The speedometer doesn't work, I have a replacement cable for it. I have driven the truck for about a 100 miles or so. Comparing it to other stock model A's it drives, runs and handles very very good. -I have described the truck as accurate as possible but anyone is more than welcome to inspect it at anytime. -It is for sale locally and if sold I will remove the listing. -A non refundable deposit of $1000 thru paypal or money transfer is due within 48 hours of auction ending, the balance will need to be paid by cashiers, bank, or personal check, cash or wire transfer. All payments need to clear before the truck is released. -Shipping is the resposibility of the buyer, however I will help facilitate where I can. I have room to store the truck inside for a reasonable amount of time until it can be picked up. There is a big parking lot across the street that will make it easy for the transporter.
