Vehicle Detail
1996 Cadillac Fleetwood Brougham Black on Black Ohio Very clean car, bad transmission. This is a clean two owner vehicle. The original owner bought it in 1996. He put 65,000 miles on it and gave it to his son in-law in 2007. In November of this year, the transmission started acting up and they decided to get rid of it. I bought it today–12-8-2011. I bought it for a good price. I have two options with this car. I will put it for sale for a week or two with the intention of making a profit from it. If no one buys it, I’ll put a transmission in it and drive it. The previous owner showed me a folder that contained many thousands of dollars in maintenance/repairs. The owner would not provide these to me. I told him to black out/remove his personal info, but he still wouldn’t hand them over. The large items that he had replaced since he bought it: The entire Air Conditioning system–this was over $1000. The air blows cold at this time. All four shocks–the rear being OEM air shocks. The water pump, radiator, thermostat, and all hoses. The distributor, wires, and plugs. All of brakes & front rotors. The oil cooler hoses. The battery. All four tires. Several other items. I wanted the receipts, but the guy would not give them to me. Check my feedback. I assure any potential buyers that I viewed these receipts on Thursday 12-8-2011. The engine runs great. It does not have any problems. It idles smoothly. I drove the car forwards and backwards, loaded it onto my trailer, and drove it back & forth in my driveway. ASSUME THAT THE TRANSMISSION NEEDS REPLACED. THAT IS WHY THE CAR IS CHEAP. Previous owner stated that it lost overdrive and drive. I did not test drive this vehicle, however I have no reason to believe that the previous owner would be lying about the transmission problems. The body of the car is in good shape for its age. The rear driver side quarter panel has a few small dents in it. The rest of the car has a few minor scrapes & dings, but the body is in overall excellent shape. I’ve owned several of these model cars. Generally the front & rear bumpers rust out. The bumpers on this car are in great shape. The vinyl top is in excellent condition. The paint is still shiny. The clear coat is not faded/peeling off like a lot of these cars tend to do. This car was garaged. The interior of this car is in great shape. The driver seat has a small tear on the side, and the lumbar/heated seat mechanism is loose. This car has zero evidence that it was ever smoked in. The seats look great, the leather is still soft, it smells good inside, the headliner is perfect, the dash doesn’t have any cracks, etc. I have had the car running for over a half hour. The heater is hot, the AC is cold, the dash doesn’t have any warning lights on, the power seats work, the OEM stereo works, etc. There is an aftermarket CD changer in the trunk. I did not try it to see if it works or not. The wipers work, etc. If you want a brand new Cadillac, take your $50,000 to the dealer. Don’t waste my time or yours. If you want the last/best of the breed of full size GM RWD cars with the 350 LT1 engine, buy this for $1799, put a used or rebuilt transmission in it, and have a nice daily driver for less than $3000. All pictures of this car were taken on Thursday 12-8-2011. What you see is what you are buying. Due to the transmission issue, this car will need to be towed. I will not ship this car. It’s not worth my time/hassle. I would deliver this car up to 250 miles from my residence for $2.50 per mile. I would only deliver it after being paid in full through Paypal. A $500 deposit is required within 24 hours, and full payment is required within 3 days. If you cannot do that, don’t bid. The car must be picked up within 7 days of winning the auction. If you can’t do that, don’t bid. Located in Philo, Ohio. Zip code 43771.
