Vehicle Detail
This is a really fun truck to drive! I get thumbs up and turn heads where ever I go! I fixed it up 8 years ago, but it is again in need of more attention than I can give. Yes, there are a few things that could be fixed, but it can be a daily driver while you work on that stuff. Those are machine washable, neoprene seat covers you see. It's got a CD player with a detachable faceplate in it (discourages theft). Also has matching orange speakers. The lights all work. The floorboards are solid with a layer of insulation under a solid, black carpet set. The Jasper engine was put in 3/12/09. The Jasper transmission was put in 10/23/09. Both parts are under 36 months/75,000 miles transferable warranties! The odometer reads 35,000, but I am assuming this is it's second cycle through and that the truck probably has 135,000 miles. Not for sure though. I know very little about it's history before I got it 8 years ago.One picture shows you the surface rust on the back. I unfortunately lost the international emblem (where the rust spot is). You can find those pretty easily online. You can also see that the back hatch doesn't currently have a handle. Snow entered through the lock and rusted the internal mechanism so that I couldn't open the hatch without dismantling it. It probably needs a new handle (also easily found online), but I'm selling it as is. I still have the old one that may be savable. Another picture shows you the carpet discoloration from my tool box. May be able to clean it up, but I haven't even tried. Another picture shows you the inside top. In the corner you can kind of see the wires hanging down from the light we put in. I also have this light that you can mess with putting it back in. The doors currently don't lock. I don't need to lock my doors around here, so I haven't really tried to fix it. The scoop is just for show. We thought we were going to need to cut a hole in the hood to allow for more space, but then realized that we didn't need to. By that point the scoop was already on, and I liked the look it gave the truck. I just roll the windows down for air conditioning. The heater is very weak, but does work. The gas gauge is inconsistent, so I don't rely on it. As a bonus, the truck is filled with boxes of extra Scout parts, both from this truck and others that were used for parts for this truck (see picture). I'm not even sure what all is in there. All vehicle maintenance records are also included. Though selling in New York, this Scout has Kansas plates. Therefore, I have never tried to have it pass state inspection.Three months ago, I was quickly offered a new job that required a move. This truck has not been driven since then.
