Vehicle Detail
Up for bid is this really nice 1976 Honda CB550 four motorcycle. The bike has been sitting in a garage for the last 5 years and hasn't seen the light of day until last week when my friend moved. He hated to part with it but couldn't take it with him. It ran fine with no problems when it was garaged 5 years ago but now the battery is dead. It has a kick starter also and the engine turns over and has good compression. The tank is clean inside but has about 2/3rds of a tank of old gas in it that will need to be drained. I would think the carbs may need to be pulled also and cleaned form the old gunky gas. I would imagine that if you had a new battery installed, the old gas drained, fresh gas added and the carburators cleaned it would fire right up. This would make a great winter project for the do-it-yourselfer. By spring you would have a nice vintage ride for a small investment. The only other problem with the bike is the front brake cable. I broke it when I was moving it from his house to mine. These sell on Ebay for 10-15 bucks. As you might imagine with a cycle this age there are some light rust specks on the rims and chrome pieces. Much of this will probably polish off. All I did for the pictures was wash the bike down with a hose and dry it off. There are a few light dings and dents here and there but nothing very serious. The tank does have one small ding in it a few inches from the gas cap and the paint is a tiny bit faded on top (see pic). Couple small dings in the fenders also. The tires still have life left in them but are a little dry from sitting. Not too bad though. As far as the exhaust is concerned I only found one small hole in the bottom pipe about halfway back. The chrome still looks great on them though. Seat is free from any rips or tears and looks nice. The original roll bar is included with the bike also (see pic). I have the title in my name and the original key which you will get when the bike is paid in full. The odometer reads 13,899 miles. As I mentioned earlier there is no battery power to check electronics but everything worked properly when the bike was parked. I'm selling the bike AS-IS but more than willing to answer any questions that you might have so be sure to ask before the last 30 seconds of the auction and I will get right back to you. 100 dollar non-refundable deposit required within 2 days of the end of the auction. Balance due within 7 days after. Shipping is not included and must be arranged by the new owner. I can help load it but will not arrange shipping.
