Vehicle Detail
Greetings and thank you for considering this auction for my 1956 Classic Ford Thunderbird. This Bird is a real head turner and gets lots of attention where ever I drive her. This vehicle is a Very Good Driver and is in very good condition overall. I have owned this car for the past four (4) years and she has been garaged everyday and has not seen any snow(or rain :)) I have put less then 1000 miles on this vehicle since i bought her from the previous owner who had owned her for app. 15 years. The previous owner did a on-frame restore app. 11 years ago. This restore included new paint, interior seats, engine re-build, and sheet metal work to eliminate some rusting. The interior was originally Red and White. The previous owners wife preferred the Black and White interior so it was changed out. When I purchased this vehicle i did the following work in 2008:* New Tires-Sigma Shadow White Wall* New Brakes, lines etc.* New Radiator* New Front End-Work-Car drives tight :)* New Carburator parts My Bird has the following options:*Automatic Transmission*V-8 312 engine*Manual Steering AND Brakes*Two tops- Both Hard Top AND Convertable Top (white)*Fender Skirts*Continental Kit*Seat Belts*Colonial White Exterior AND a Black and White Interior My Bird has a few blemishes/scratches/dings and imperfections from the last paint job. Overall the paint shines and looks very good. The chrome is good overall with some peeling being seen on the front bumper and just a bit of rust starting around by the rear license plate. The Port-Hole Hard Top has shows some cracking in the paint but is in great shape overall. The Soft-Top has (4) small tears in it. I never used the soft top, it was either the hard top or a pure convertiable for me. The dash-board has two cracks on top, one on drivers side and one on passenger side. The gauges work as follows: Gas: Is always a half tank off. Speedometer/Odometer: I disconnected these when i purchased this car. At 40mph the speedometer got noisy and annoying. I was told the unit needs a re-build. Temperature Gauge: Always seems to run hot(never over heats) although most of these Birds run hot. Leaks as Follows:There are a couple of leaks from the underside. Nothing crazy and appears to be oil. Again, a lot of these birds at 55 years old have some leaks. All around this is a great looking car that can be used as you please. She is sound mechanically as is her body. I used her for some weekend driving and for taking to the car shows in my area. Although I never won first place, this vehicle did place as high as Second. Please feel free to send me an email for all questions and or additional pictures. I encourage you to consider coming to see this Thunderbird as I don't believe my pictures and description do it the justice it deserves. I am located in Nassau County Long Island NY. You may call me also at 917-939-6847 with any and all questions or concerns I want the next owner of this Thunderbird to be completely happy and satisfied as I have been with the purchase of this car. This Bird is 55 years old and as such is not perfect. This is not a "Show" car or a complete "Off the Frame" restore model. For that type of car you will probably pay double from what I will be selling this car for. There is a reserve price on this car and it is EXTREMELY reasonable. The total purchase price on this car depending on how the bidding goes will be a great bargain if you are seeking a very good driver of this type. Drive it away as is and don't put a penny into it or restore further to your hearts content. I will be willing to assist and work with you if transport of this vehicle is needed by a carrier. *If you are the winning bidder a $400 deposit will be required via Pay Pal within 48hrs of the end of auction* Of course as a private seller there is no warranty on this vehicle and it is sold as is.
