1991 GMC Sonoma Syclone - 1 of 31 Saudi Syclones!
This is a very special truck. It would be special enough if it were just a regular Syclone. There were only 2,995 GMC Syclones built and this one is nearly all original and in excellent condition. What makes this truck extra special is that it is one of thirty one Saudi Syclones that were returned to the US and sold to GMC employees. History
This truck was originally sold to a GMC employee in Texas in December of 1994 after it returned from Saudi Arabia. After three years it was sold to someone near Phoenix Arizona where it stayed until October of 2009. In October of 2009 it was sold with 63,688 miles on it to a gentleman in Virginia. This truck has lived its whole life in dry southern climates and garage kept most of the time so it is in very good condition. It has never been in any accidents and all the panels are original. We have the clear and clean Virginia title ready to be transferred to the new owner. The mileage that you see is the actual mileage on the truck.
Mechanical
After we aquired this truck we spent a couple weeks, completely going through it to make sure that everything was as good as it could be. We completely and thoroughly serviced this truck using all AC Delco parts where possible. (see pictures) Here is a list of the maintenance and service that we performed.
-Engine oil and filter (AC Delco filter, Mobil 1 Synthetic Oil)
- Transmission fluid and filter (AC Delco Filter - Synthetic Transmission Fluid)
- Transfer case fluid changed (Synthetic)
- Front and rear differential fluid changed (Synthetic gear oil)
- Fuel filter (AC Delco)
- Air filter (AC Delco)
- New spark plugs (NGK)
- New spark plug wires, Distributor cap, and Rotor (AC Delco)
- New ignition coil (AC Delco)
- Oil filter adapter oil seals and gaskets
- Front differential pinion seal
- Front propshaft CV joint repacked with new boot installed
- Front propshaft double cardon joint lubricated
- Two new Michelin tires installed on the front Rear tires are at least 50%
- New Water Pump
- Virginia State inspected
This truck runs and drives just like it should. The transmission shifts crisply without any slipping or hesitation. The air conditioning blows cold. The steering and suspension are in good shape. There are no leaks or rust. This truck was undercoated many years ago and it has been stored in a dry climate. This truck has not been modified or chipped. Even the exhaust system is all original although the mufflers do have small holes at the very bottom. We decided not to replace them since we didn't want to destroy the originality. This truck appears to have been well cared for and not abused in any way.
Exterior
This outside of this truck looks much like a new one as you can see from the pictures. The paint is glossy and smooth. The wheels are clean with only minor corrosion on the outside edge of the two front wheels. The glass is good with no cracks or noticable chips. This truck has been tastefully accessorized with a sprayed in bed liner along with a roll up tonneau cover and a bed extender. It also has vent visors over the windows and extra window tinting on the side and rear windows. The body panels are all original to the truck. We did have the front bumper professionally refinished due to bug damage/rock chips etc. We also had the tailgate refinished due to a slight dent near the center. The hood was repainted previously and the paint is holding up very well. There are no dings or dents and no significant scratches or other cosmetic imperfections although you can see a few slight scuffs and such on the lower body cladding along with some very small touched up chips in the front of the hood.
Interior
The interior of this truck looks much like a new one. It is very clean and odor free. This truck has not been smoked in. The factory radio has been replaced with a Jensen unit as you can see in the pictures. You can also see that the dash is cracked at two of the usual places. This truck has a remote keyless entry with an alarm system. It comes with all the owners manuals, floor mats, and spare tire tools etc.
This truck is a very nice driver quality vehicle that will show well at car shows. It isn't quite perfect but for a 65,000 mile vehicle, it is about as good as you will find anywhere. This truck deserves to go to a good home where someone can give it the care and protection that this piece of history deserves. We will accept personal and business checks but the checks must clear both banks before vehicle and title are released (usually 7-10 days) We also accept loan checks from your bank, credit union, or from online lenders.
