Vehicle Detail
Up for sale is a 1955 Chevy Bel Air 4door... The car is in need of complete restoration, and is in NON-RUNNING condition. The vehicle features the inline 6cyl engine, and a converted 3spd manual transmission (originally automatic car). The car is very complete, minus some engine accessories... ie air cleaner, starter, cooling fan blade, distributor. The body is complete with trim and only missing one LF turn signal lense, and damaged passenger hood hinge. The body condition is typical of what you would expect to find of a vehicle that has been sitting exposed to the elements for years... The paint is faded, the sheetmetal has various minor dent/dings throughout, but the outer body panels have very little severe rust with the exception of the notorious front fenders behind the wheel where there is some actual "rust through". The rockers only have minor surface type rust. The floor boards will require some work. The drivers window had fallen off the regulator allowing years of dust, snow, rain to collect on the drivers floor near the door. There is rot of the sheet metal on drivers front floor board, and drivers rear floor board. The converted 3spd transmission also has a cutout for the floor shifter. The passenger floor looks great due to closed windows. The trunk floor has only one area of rust where hidden under the floor mat... the trunk pan is very thin in this area, but spare tire well in good shape. All areas of rust could be patched to nearby solid sheetmetal. The windshield, LF, LR, RR windows have cracks the RF window, wing windows, quarter windows, and Rear window are not cracked. The interior is very worn and seat covers are just torn threads remaining. The carpet and insulation were removed to inspect/verify the rust. Door panels have water damage. The drivetrain is questionable whether could returned to operational. The vehicle will roll. Original tires were removed, and replaced with used set that hold air. The left front and right rear brakes were seized, and the shoes have been removed. Pictures below attempt to show damage areas as possible. We found this car out in North Eastern Colorado in a field. The car had been sitting behind that barn where it was parked, and not moved since the mid 1970's. The little old lady who sold us stated that the car had a problem running, so her husband parked it. She noted that her grandson attempted to start repairing the car in the early 1980's, and removed some of the parts of the engine and set in the back seat. We brought the car home and let the vehicle sit in our back lot for a while waiting to gather drivetrain parts for the project the car was intended for. We lost interest in the vehicle. We have a clean Colorado title in hand. Buyer must pay non-refundable $200 deposit down within 48 hours of purchase with Paypal. The remaining balance is due within 10 days. Buyer is responsible for pickup or shipping of this vehicle. If you wish to have it shipped using a service, we will gladly cooperate. Cash is preferred method of payment, but will accept Bank Cashiers check also. This vehicle is sold: as is-where is... If you are not sure about something, Please ASK! We reserve the right to end the listing if the vehicle is no longer available for sale. Please do not bid on this auction unless you are serious about owning this vehicle. All non-paying high bidders will be reported to Ebay, and negative feedback posted. Please contact with any questions before bidding.... Happy bidding, Mark
