Vehicle Detail
You are bidding on a 1956 Ford Fairlane Victoria 2-Door Hardtop - very solid and complete car that is ready to restore. Factory original Mandarin Orange and White with mostly original paint and 292 V8 with 2-speed automatic. The body is in really nice shape, with very little rust. Vehicle came from Missouri and has sat in a covered garage in Virginia for the last 20 years waiting to be restored. Here are some details: Mechanical - Has what we believe to be the original 292 V8 and 2-speed transmission. Also with the car is an extra transmission and torque converter in unknown condition (see photo). Engine and transmission may function, but we haven't tried to start or drive the car. Car has manual drum brakes and manual steering. The drivetrain will need to be restored but everything is there, including an intake and carburetor that is correct for the car (see photo) and the air cleaner assembly. Interior - The interior is mostly complete, but obviously needs restoration. The rear seat is in good shape and may clean up, but as you can see in the photos, most of the interior will need to be redone. The radio is missing, but everything else is there. The floors and trunk pan are incredibly solid with only minor surface rust and a couple small holes (2-3 inch areas) in the floorpans that can be easily repaired. Body and Glass - The body is very solid and won't need very much metal work to bring it back to shape. The glass is in great shape as well. The driver's side front window is cracked, but all other glass, including the front and rear windshield, is intact. All the trim molding and stainless is there and in great shape. The bumpers are in nice shape and ready to be rechromed, and the taillights are also intact. Overall, this is a great restoration candidate in a very unique color combination. While I have tried to be very honest when describing the car, it is really very nice for an unrestored 56 Fairlane Victoria and you will look a long time for a more solid example.
