Vehicle Detail

1987 BMW 325IS This vehicle is an all-original EXTREMELY RARE, BEAUTIFUL, Collector's Car that has been well maintained and would make an easy show car, race car, or easy full restoration project. I purchased this car from the original family that purchased this vehicle new from the showroom floor. The car was owned originally by a mom who gave the vehicle to her daughter a few years ago, so the car has never been abused. This car will simply be a great investment!! The official BMW exterior color of the car is called Bronzit and the interior is Pearl Beige. The original retail price of this rare e30 was $28,120.00 The car entered the U.S. in Brunswick, GA, was sold at an Atlanta, Georgia BMW dealership, and was titled all its life in Atlanta, Georgia. Any BMW enthusiast knows the value of this rare car and how this vehicle will continue to appreciate in value. I showed this vehicle in a few car shows this summer and it gets a lot of attention. The car runs great and is extremely fast, GREAT ON GAS and handles great. It only needs a few minor issues addressed that I outline below to be maximized. The car was repainted this summer with a driver’s quality paint job that is in great condition. It does have a few small dings that I did not have repaired when I had the car repainted that are commensurate with the age of the vehicle. These small dings are very minor and hardly noticeable at normal distance. THE SIX DIGIT ODOMETER ON THE CAR shows 147,000; however, as with most of these e30s, the odometer stopped a few years back. The actual mileage is estimated at about 165K based on rare usage for the past few years!!! I have most of the maintenance documents on the vehicle along with the original window sticker, manuals, and factory information booklets. The title to this vehicle is clear! I have driven the car to car shows, the airport, and work without issue for the past few months. The car comes with factory sport kit, rear spoiler, factory sport seats, sunroof, BBS Sport Wheels, sport exhaust, and on-board computer. This car has been driven sparingly for years and was stored in covered storage. The vehicle has never been wrecked!! The engine and manual transmission are original and do not have any modifications. The 3.5 liter engine comes with fuel injection and is extremely strong and does not smoke or burn oil. The wheels on the car are in great condition. The tires are new performance series tires that have less than 200 miles on them. The vehicle will probably need the rear shocks replaced as they are not as rigid as they should be and tend to be a little noisy on bumps. The interior is in excellent condition for a classic car that is over twenty years old. There are no cracks in the dash, which is extremely rare for e30s!! The only seat blemishes are a few minor cracks and fading in the front seats due to age. The door panels are original and in excellent condition without rips or tears. The original BMW carpet is in good condition and has very minor blemishes that are commensurate with the age of the vehicle. All of the seat belts, seat belt loops, light globe covers, ashtrays, control knobs are present and are in good condition. One of the clamps on the DS interior dome light is chipped which causes the light and a small portio of the headliner (where headliner is secured via the same light) to sag a bit. Also, the DS seat belt does not recoil as it should when the door is opened. The bumpers on the vehicle are in excellent condition, but the rubber and plastic on the sides and top of the bumpers are started to rash a little. This rashing is rarely noticeable since the rubber and plastic have been repainted with factory moulding paint. There is a small ding on the rear quarter panel where the lung wrench bumped into the paint from inside of the trunk; the ding is really unnoticeable from normal glance. There is also a small ding on the front fender where the grill surrounds the fender. The floor pans on the vehicle are solid without rust. There is no rust in the wheel wells or door jambs. The rear seat is in good condition. The car has power windows and sunroof that work fine. A small portion of the weather strip on the sunroof is off-center and loose, but does not affect the operation of the sunroof or cause the sunroof to leak. The doors open and shut like new. The radio is an aftermarket AM/FM/CD radio and works fine. The original power antenna does not work; again, another common flaw with the e30s. The air conditioning on the vehicle is in-tact; however, the AC belt was removed from the compressor and I have not had the system evaluated. I was told by the previous owner stated that the compressor simply started to squeal last fall and it was disconnected since it was not in use during the mild fall weather season. The heater on the car works great. The glass on the vehicle is in good condition, but has two minor chips. The cargo area is in great condition and has the original trunk tool pack and jack. The spare tire on the car has never been used. The front and rear BMW emblems are in great shape. The factory on-board computer works well. The overhead display brake light comes on, but there is nothing wrong with the brake system. Other indicator lights have come on periodically, but none of the systems were failing—again, another e30 common problem. The vehicle runs extremely well, but I would recommend the vehicle get a tune-up prior to a lengthy drive. The headlights, fog lights, and tail lights work fine, but there is one crack in the DS fog light and marker light. My intent is to represent this vehicle well in my description in hope that a new owner will give this car the due love that it needs. I would prefer to sell this vehicle to a BMW enthusiast that knows the history, value, even the quirks of these vehicles. As with all older vehicles, vehicle lovers may have different perspectives on the condition of vehicles. I encourage any interested bidder to inspect the vehicle in-person before bidding or buying. On Nov-16-11 at 07:56:17 PST, seller added the following information: I haved replaced the fron parking light lense that had a crack in it. The on-board computer works, but the background lights on it are dim. The winning bidder will receive a clear title endorsed by the previous owner.
