This rare unrestored 5 window 1st series 1955 Chevrolet pick-up starts, runs and drives. It has been stored since 1996 and only driven a couple of miles a year to keep things working. The steering gear is a little sloppy and the brakes could use some attention. From what I can tell it was originally sold new here in Eastern Oregon and was a ranch truck. There is a little surface rust in places but the truck is pretty much cancer free. The speedometer and odometer work but the actual miles are unknown. The original 235 engine runs smooth and the clutch and 4 speed manual transmission seem fine. The driver and passenger door glass is cracked but the wing windows are fine. The rear windows and corner windows are in good shape. The windshield has a small chip on the passenger side that could be repaired. I have tried to find out from Chevrolet how many 1st series 5 window models were made but they either don’t have the records or I have not found the right person or division to talk to. What I do know is that the last 1st series pick-up came off the line on March 25th, 1955 and that’s when they switched to the new body style 2nd series. Buyer is responsible for shipping. The headlights work, the dash lights work and the drivers side tail light works. Passenger side tail light did not come on. Could be just a bulb.
