Styling changes were made in 1964. This was the fourth generation Thunderbird, commonly referred to as the “Flair Bird”. In 1965 disc brakes became standard, as were the sequential rear turn signals. In 1966, full width taillights were introduced a new grille gave the front end a crisper more wedge-shape look than the 1964 and 1965 models. 1966 was the final year of the fourth generation Thunderbird and the last year for the beautiful Thunderbird Convertible. This generation Thunderbird played a starring role in the TV series “Highlander” and the 1966 Thunderbird was used in the 1991 movie “Thelma & Louise”. The 390 cubic inch engine was able to propel the Thunderbird from 0-60 in just 11 seconds with a top speed of 110 mph. THIS BEAUTIFUL T-BIRD IS A REAL HEAD TURNER! This Thunderbird is 45 years old, so some minor signs of age are to be expected! The exterior essentially looks new, with excellent paint and chrome. The interior looks great as well. There is slight cracking around the grip indentations on the door panels. Although the clock is not working, this is to be expected. The A/C was working, but it is not now, and I believe it needs Freon. There are cracks in the dash, but the dash is covered with a dash pad. The passenger door window is not working, but no attempt has been made to diagnose the reason. The rubber around the windows is original and dry and cracked with some minor loss. The horns sound when the steering wheel is turned, so the wires have been disconnected at the horns. This is most likely a short in the steering column just below the wheel. I noticed that the heater core has been bypassed, and there is a noise in the front end that sounds like it could use bushings. Lastly, the trunk liner shows some surface wear but is fully intact with no tears. Note that the mileage listed above is the odometer reading only and is not necessarily the total mileage for the vehicle. Terms of Sale: BIDS ARE BINDING.
