Barn Find of the week! Well, the car WAS found NEAR a barn in Texas where it has been sitting outside in the elements for over 20 years. Now, my PLAN was to have several different vendors do their magic with it so that I could take it to the 2012 Texas Audi State Meet. It was also my intention to get the car in a magazine , photgraphed with a model to two. Well, a month after getting the car cleaned up and all the junk out of it a photographer contacted me about doing a phot shoot with a girl, that was looking for a retro car related background. I have many cars at my disposal and invited him out. When he arrived I showed him around looking at several vintage Rolls Royce, Ferrari, and Porsche. He spots the DKW over in the back corner and says " THAT is the car we want to use " So, now the car has been used for a photo shoot with a model and will find it's way in to a magazine soon! Anyways, back to the car. It is in " Rebuildable " condition and is 90% complete. The pictures pretty much tell the story. The gauges and interior trim panels are all accounted for. The windows, latches, handles, etc are all functional. All of the glass is in place and not cracked. The car was used for rally racing back in the 60's and early 70's There are several plaques on the glove box from a few of those races. The engine is NOT complete, the block is in the car the crank and flywheel are also with the car. There are several boxes of misc parts that come with the car, everything I got is included ( Minus the actual trash and leaves ) The car is located in North Dallas and may be inspected anytime during my work hours 7-6 M-F and 9-3p Saturdays. You are in charge of loading and hauling the car away. $250.00 NON-Refundable deposit due within 3 days of auction end and FULL payment must be made within 7 days of auction end.
