Vehicle Detail

Hello, I am selling this car for a co-worker. This is a great find. Not too many of these cars are out there in mostly original condition. This car even comes with a Ford Mustang new car purchasers owners manual. This car was purchased on eBay from a seller in 2002, that's still active. The Mustang was picked up on a trailer upon purchase, transported to Missouri, and immediately placed in dry storage. It has not been out even once since the day it was unloaded from the trailer. It was to be a retirement project, but unfortunately has to be sold. My co-worker and I removed the carb, water pump fan and radiator, and stopped there. We still have all these parts. Included will be some extras purchased later: A very nice Holly 4 bbl rebuilt carb, a cast iron 4 bbl Ford intake manifold, and a round gauge dash speedometer cluster, all nearly in mint condition. None of these items have been installed, and are still in the shipping boxes. A 1964 1/2 - 1973 Haynes repair manual will be also included. Since we just purchased the car and placed it into dry storage, I will list what the previous owner listed in his auction about the car. The motor turns freely by hand, and the doors and trunk lid open and close well. Surprisingly, the doors are solid on the bottom. Here is what the previous owner listed, and I believe it to be correct, to the best of my knowledge: 1965 Fastback 2+2 This is the ultimate Mustang body style of the muscle car era. It is a project car with a lot of potential. I believe the car is quite complete except for the radio which is missing from the uncut dash and soft interior pieces. the car is a c-code AT transmission car. The seats are suitable for a driver quality car. The carpet has been removed for floor pan replacement. The previous owner started restoration with floor pans and quarter skins (neither of which are finished.) Originally Wimbledon white with red standard interior. Vehicle Condition This is a project car. It is reputed to have just over 100,000 miles, not verifiable. Very nice set of Magnum 500 rims and bias ply tires. Dual exhaust. There is a new gas tank installed along with the brakes. The frame rails appear to be solid in the front, and the rears have been patched with extensions. The rockers seem to be fairly solid. I have not had the car running, but the motor turns freely. The car is suffering from the usual "Mustang rust" which is typical. The car is being sold "As Is" and is the buyers responsibility to verify all the info he or she needs. Pick up and or shipping will be at the expense, and is the responsibility of the buyer. We will assist in shipping in any way we can. It also may be possible for me to deliver the car at the buyers expense. We're being as honest as possible. I'm sure there will be many questions and opinions. I will answer all questions as promptly as possible. Thanks for looking... Please have a good day! Craig On Nov-08-11 at 16:10:54 PST, seller added the following information: The intake manifold tag is still on top of the 289 motor. The number on the tag is : Top line - 289C6610 Bottom line - 6-B236-S. (Usually these tags are long gone since coming out of the factory.). The door tag says: Body 63A (2+2 Fastback) Color M (Wimbledon White) Trim 25 ( Red Crinkle Vinyl, Standard Interior) Date 15k (October 15, 1964) D.S.O 15 (Newark) Axel 6 ( 2.80:1 Conventional) Trans 6 (C4 Automatic) Warranty number: Year 5 (1965) Plant F (Dearborn, MI) Body Series 09 (2+2 Fastback Engine C 289 2v V8) Unit 322985 Thanks! Craig On Nov-08-11 at 17:22:13 PST, seller added the following information: The seats are in great condition!... I would not be surprised at all if a build sheet was behind one of them. I did not look too hard because I did not want to take a chance on damaging anything. Thy actually look like they just came out of the factory, less the dust...lol On Nov-08-11 at 17:34:13 PST, seller added the following information: I do have more pics... eBay would only allow 24 in the auction. I have pics of the Ford 4bbl manifold, the Holly 4bbl carb, and the new round dash gauge cluster. (The old one is fine, we just the round cluster looked great.) There are a few more car pics too I can email to you if you would like. On Nov-09-11 at 05:01:06 PST, seller added the following information: Please copy and paste the link below go to Microsoft Skydrive for more pics... https://skydrive.live.com/redir.aspx?cid=2dd1386823ecd28d&page=play&resid=2DD1386823ECD28D!145 Thanks again, Craig On Nov-10-11 at 03:08:55 PST, seller added the following information: Important Note to current and prospective bidders: The owner of the Mustang will be moving from his current residence to another location here locally. This is a new development. How will this effect the current auction? The car will still be for sale in this auction, but not be available for pickup or delivery until on or after December 6, 2011. But no payment will be due until that time. The car does not have to be picked up or delivered on that day, we will be very flexible on pickup or delivery. This will still be at the expense of the buyer. Again, we may be able to deliver the car for cost. We could close this auction and re-run it in around 3 weeks, but would rather it continue. We may choose this option if too many bidders retract their bids, but again do not wish to inconvenience the bidders in this. I will send a email to everyone who has bid, and if you wish to cancel your bid I will do so for you. Hopefully this will be a plus for some bidders allowing for more time in arranging transportation and financing. Since we are asking the bidders to be flexible, we will do the same for the winner. Thank you for your understanding. I will answer any and all questions. Craig On Nov-13-11 at 08:22:24 PST, seller added the following information: Hello again... Please ignore the "Payment is due in full 7 days after the auction closes statement." Payment will not be due until December 6th, 2011 or later. No deposit will be required either. The 7 day statement is something that I cannot modify at this time in the auction. The above statement supersedes anything else that may be listed. Sorry for the confusion. Thanks again, Craig On Nov-14-11 at 12:17:52 PST, seller added the following information: Another update: Just posted pics of the underside on the Microsoft Skydrive link above. I have listed it below again: https://skydrive.live.com/redir.aspx?cid=2dd1386823ecd28d&page=play&resid=2DD1386823ECD28D!145 We worked on cleaning the apron vin # stamped in the sheet metal. It was difficult to read, as we only cleaned it with soap and water and a little goop cleaner. We did not want to take ant chance of damaging the number. Looks like it would clean up with light media blasting. The vin on the apron "does" match the door tag number. We could see the "production number" 322985 in it's entirety. The pics of this are on the Skydrive link above. Here is what we could see: 5 (Barely could see) F 0 9 C (Covered) 322985 (The 5 is barely visible) 09 (The 09 are still covered) Again we didn't want to damage the vin, so we were very careful with it. Looks like it would clean up in its entirety If you did it right. So please bid accordingly to this information. thanks, Craig On Nov-14-11 at 12:33:56 PST, seller added the following information: Sorry for the above typo... there is no "09" on the end. I was just in a hurry when writing down the vin at the car. Thanks, Craig
