Vehicle Detail

Nice Geo Metro Convertible. This is a sweet looking ride for the summer. Bright red, cant beat that. Even has A/C! It also works great in the winter due to it being lightweightand having front wheel drive. I have one for personal use and you canget through some pretty bad spots. I keep tires chains in my trunk, just incase I want to go through some serious snow! This car is basically rust free, which is a nice feature, if you are from up north! Has the 5 speed so you get the most mpg with thisone, averages around 45 mpg. And you dont even have to buy $5k worth of batteries every 5 years or try to figure out some high tech engine/electric motor problem like in those fancy hybrid cars. If you drive a truck every day, you could save the price of this car in a year, just in fuel savings. And, with a trailer hitch, you can haul the same as a truck beds worth of lumber or whatever just fine. For instance, if you drive 10k miles at 10 mpg * $4 a gallon = $4k. Switch to the geo, divide by 4 since you are getting 4 times the mpg at 45 mpg. So your fuel costs are reduced to $1k which means you save $3k per year. And you could still keep your truck around for heavy hauling, if need be. Of course, the price of fuel is only going higher, what will your savings bewhen it gets to $8 a gallon like over in europe??? Let alone, the cheaper partsfor repair, like $10 lifetime brake pads, $30 tires, $60 radiator... A trailer hitch can also be added for around $100 which allows you tohaul 1k lbs with it, like a 6x8 trailer. This particular car starts and runs ok but is lacking in power. Compression tests come up low. These engines do have problemswith the valves sometimes, so it could just need a new head installed(around $150 on ebay). If you are going to be driving it a lot though, might as well buy a nice warrantiedrebuilt engine for around $800 here on ebay or even a good used engine for $100-$300. These engines will last around 100k-150k miles pretty easy but probably longer if you take good care of them. These engines are very lightweight, theyare used in ultralight aircraft a lot. I personally replacedmine without a lift or anything, just pick it up with your hands and pop it in the car. Or you can get an used engine hoist for around $75 usuallyon craigslist. This car also could use the rear window on the top replaced, or just a newtop installed. If you just drive it on nice summer days or if you dont care aboutlooks, I suppose it would be fine as is. I am not sure if the repaired windowleaks in the rain since we didnt have any when we were moving it about luckily. It appears to be a good repair but it looks kinda yucky with tape and glue.A piece of clear vinyl to replace the window would be only like $10( if you are goodat sewing) or a whole new top can be had on ebay for around $150. This is located in Virginia Beach VA. We could potentially deliver it for $3 a mile, $200 min. Email or call to set that up. This is for sale locally, so we reserve the right to end the auction at any time. 607 699 1266 or text or email On Nov-10-11 at 13:16:21 PST, seller added the following information: Also, this has tow bar attachment points welded to the front, so you can pull it will any vehicle that has a ball hitch. The car only weights like 1700 lbs. A tow bar can be purchased from ebay or harbor freight tools store for around $70.
