Up for auction is a 1969 El Camino SS 396 clone. This is a nice driver quality El Camino, runs, drives and looks good. I've owned this car, truck? about 10 years, driven it quite a bit, and it has never left me stranded. The engine is from a 1972 Chevelle with 1970 heads, giving it 9.5:1 compression, runs good on pump gas, rebuilt approx. 10,000 miles ago. Engine has a little valve train noise, probably something with a rocker arm. Transmission is a rebuilt TH 350, shifts as it should. Car has power steering, power disc brakes, tilt wheel, bucket seats and guage package. (not hooked up.) Body is straight, no rust, paint is nice but not perfect, ok for a driver, nice bed.Tires are new, mounted on correct 14x6 SS wheels. Interior is really good, new seat covers, door panels and carpet. Aftermarket AM/FM radio with cassette, speakers mounted tastefully behind seats. Chrome is good with really nice bumpers, wheelwell moldings and drip rails are missing. Radiator, heater core, all belts and hoses are fairly new, exhaust system needs some work. Just looking at this truck no one can tell that it is not a genuine 1969 SS 396. If you are looking for a fun truck, car? for cruising and local shows, this might be the right choice at the right price, LOW RESERVE.
