Vehicle Detail

Here is my 1996 Subaru Outback Wagon.I love these cars, and I picked this one up to alleviate the drain on my wallet from the fuel economy of my truck.Unfortunately this wagon has fallen victim to the common head gasket issues that so many Suby's of this generation have. This one has all the right symptoms... It will sit in the driveway and idle all day long, and maintain it's correct temperature, but if you go on a 10 mile drive it will want to overheat. There is no coolant in the oil and the engine has not been overheated. It appears to be blowing exhaust bubbles in the coolant throwing off how the cooling system works. It's unfortunate because this is really a pretty neat car. The A./C blows cold. it drives down the road nice... It appears to have never been in a major collision, or have had any body work. All in all it's a pretty clean car. Issues that I know of: Headgasket issue... Right now I have the AWD in FWD bypass mode... The rear tires are mis-matched and this throws off how the system works. The AWD does work properlyuntil you take a sharp turn when the rear tire size difference makes the center diff change how it splits power causing a light skip or jerking sensation There is a parking lot mishap on the passenger side of the car. some one bumped it lightly pulling into the spot next to it (didn't bother to leave a note either) The rear windshield wiper does not appear to work currently. Take a look at the pictures, come take a look at the car... you can take it for a short test spin. This car is being sold at no reserve, and someone will take it home. this is an excellent weekend repair for a handy person. Thanks for looking.
