Vehicle Detail
The bike was just tuned, floats and carbs adjusted and synced, oil replaced and new pair of tires were mounted and balanced about 200 miles ago. Pet-cocks replaced, and the throttle and choke cables were replaced a year ago. Around 30k miles the windscreen, decals and seat, were replaced, fairing refinished, instrument wiring replaced, and the engine completely rebuilt, restoring the entire bike to mint condition. It's been only 10k miles since then, and the miles even without a rebuilt are quite low. A bike with so few miles and rebuilt is pretty rare, and should be problem-free for a long time. It has passenger pegs and two included hard-bags which detach to become suitcases. It's a BMW R-Series, which strikes a nice balance between being maintenance-free, simple to work on and durable. The plastic is close to its original black, but the pictures are a little washed-out due to the sunlight. The only problems I've noticed are that the front brake squeaks a little, but stops fine. It's within mileage of its last spline-lube, but past date. Needs a spline-lube, which can cover from an hour to an afternoon but isn't hard. There's a small bend in front wheel flange, which doesn't affect performance and is hard to see. The center-stand's stop has been bent, so needs some finesse to balance right (fixable with a hammer or some big pliers). And couple days of cold weather here also finally killed the battery. It'll start when it's warm, but will need another one for a reliable long ride. I can set you up in town with an excellent BMW mechanic who could do battery for $80 and spline for $35. I would feel comfortable (in fact, I'd be pretty excited) riding anywhere in the United States. This motorcycle is one-of-a-kind in its condition, and you're lucky you're looking to buy in this market, because you're getting one hell of a deal. Don't let this one slip by, you might not find another! Call or text Seth at 816-517-0345 with any questions. Happy Bidding!
