UP FOR AUCTION A 1981 2 DOOR CADILLAC COUP DEVILLE Equipped with a 8cyl diesel engine and automatic transmission. The odometer shows 089,162 miles. This is the actual mileage. Well equipped with electric seats, windows, cruise control, air conditioning, door locks, am-fm radio, rear window defrost, timer windshield wipers, power steering, power brakes, wire spoked hub caps - 2 sets, see pictures, one set on and one set in the trunk. The seats are burgundy velvet cloth and in excellent condition, no shine to them or tears. The exterior of the car is burgundy and is showing minor signs of rust, very little. It has a few door dings and a scratch on the rear back right top fender, someone did this to it, see picture. The tires are in fair to decent shape with 10% plus road life left. Please refer to the photos included in this auction for more description details. The car wasn’t run in the winter, however there is an engine heater on it and if plugged in when below 0 it would start. It has 2 batteries both replaced last year I believe. The car runs but will need a tune up and there seems to be a slow leak in the fuel line, this may be the reason it is running hard. I did change the fuel filter, the glow plugs and oil and filter. Also it does leak some oil, I don’t know where from but you will want to take care of that. The motor was rebuilt about 28,000 miles back or so. The air conditioner is not working on it, it may need to be charged. I had this done once to it several years ago and it worked fine, however it may need the compressor as well, I don’t know that for a fact just saying it so if it did. The car itself needs very little body work, just a bit of rust and that scratch on the fender. Also you will need to repair the head liner as it is hanging down I was told that a upholster shop could do this for about $200.00 NOTE ADDED 11-4-2011 I JUST TOOK THE OUT FOR A RUN THERE IS A PROBLEM WITH THE BRAKES I'M NOT SURE BUT I WOULD GUESS IT MAY HAVE A HOLE IN THE LINE. I THINK THIS BECAUSE THE FUEL LINE HAS A LEAK AS MENTIONED ABOVE AND THESE LINES ARE USUALLLY NEXT TO EACH OTHER ALONG THE FRAME AND TEND TO RUST WERE THEY ARE CLAMPED TO THE FRAME As this was not my car but my mothers I have driven it very little, so I am telling you as much as I know about it mechanical and physically. There may be other problems with the car that are not evident to me but I can say it was well cared for and kept in her garage all the time she had it. She bought the car used in Wausau Wisconsin from a Cadillac dealership, it was maybe 2 years old at that time, I believe it was owned be her and the original owner only. It was in one small accident years ago and repaired right a way in a shop. I believe it got hit in the right back side corner it was a slow hit and not much damage.
