For sale, one 1983 turbo diesel Mercedes that runs, but needs some engine work. The body is "sound" with little or no rust evident. The body paint is chipped and faded and there are some dents on the right front side panel and door, as well as some dents on the left side (nothing major restricting door or headlight operation, and it did pass last inspection). I had been driving the car up to a week ago, but feel the engine is in need of some major work after a major oil leak was discovered. I replaced an oil line hose to the oil cooler, drove it for about 20 miles (I didn't like the sound of the engine), and parked it. The auto transmission is the standard "hard" shifting unit that takes a few seconds to engage, but has operated reliably. All of the instrument gauges work, except the tachometer. No chips or crack in the "glass". The trim is missing in the right front quarter panel and in the rear bumper. The interior is in good shape and all of the electric windows and sunroof still work. While the A/C is inoperative, the heater does work. The radio/CD player is an aftermarket "Pioneer" that look fairly new and operates "as advertised". With some engine work the car probably still has some miles left; or it might be the perfect "parts" car to finish that project you have already started. The car is sitting on 4 decent tires with a good battery, but I would not drive it very far. If you give me cash or money order I will give you a clear title.
