Vehicle Detail

Im listing this for a friend of mine so my description is all I have been told. Feel free to ask any questions, and I will find out whatever you need to know.Anyway, his father had done a lot of restoration work on this truck before he passed away. There is only one tiny hole I saw rusted thru. Most of the rest of the body looks like a lot of work has already been done. This truck has 9 windows. The only ones not cracked are the 2 corner curved ones in the back, and the 1 small triangle one on the one door,The other triangle window only has a minor tiny hole in it, but all the glass is still there except the back window is missing. He has several parts not put on yet , like the 2 duel exhaust mufflers, front hood emblem, window and inside door handles ,chrome glove box cover, horn,a new center piece for between the front 2 windshields, and the wireing harness for the lights and other electrical devices plus a pile of hoses and other stuff. The engine is believed to be a 455 rocket along with matching transmission and starts and runs great. You can drive this truck anywhere right now.Has automatic transmission, and power steering.Tons of potential here if you really want to make it restored right , or very little needed to have it road leagal and cruising the streets.Inside has been redone by putting metal plates over holes rusted in floorboard, and then carpeted over.Newer blue bucket seats are installed, but the driver seat is ripped pretty bad on the edge.Has headliner installed and only a speedometer which does not work accuratley. No other guages or switches that do anything at the current time like wipers or headlights etc.He took me for a ride in it, and it cranked up easily ,was a bit loud as to the deteriation of the current mufflers , but seemed to ride smooth and had plenty of power. Remember he has 2 great replacement mufflers that just need to be installed. This truck is sold as is due to its age.It does have a clear title.Check out the pictures .Local pickup unless you can arrange pickup some other way I will be as helpful as possible.Location Lexington TN 38351 On Nov-02-11 at 15:17:18 PDT, seller added the following information: I have new photos and information as of today 11/2/11 i am adding.I now have the truck at my house and can help more with questions. The 1st big thing I need to add is that I located several numbers on the motor and by my research the engine in not as the title says , but a oldsmobile 403.I pictured the #'s that led me to this conclusion.Im very sorry for any confusion and if this is a problem , please retract your bid.I drove the car myself and found out more useful info I must add. I started it cold today , and 1st , before you turn the key, you have to twist 3 red wires together and then turn the key. This keeps the battery from running down he said.It cranked up and died the first 2 tries but on the 3rd attempt , with a little gas , it quickly was idling , and ready to go.The only thing I found unusual was it could not turn real sharp like a now day car. I dont know if this is normal for a 61 year old trk or not. You can still navigate it on the road just fine, but you just cant do a really sharp turn , which took me a few minutes to get used to, but I felt this must also be mentioned.I am trying my best to not have any suprises when you get it.On Nov-02-11 at 17:05:51 PDT, seller added the following information: A few more things I forgot to mention was you will see a picture of the gear shifter on the floor like in a more modern vehicle .Anyway I noticed when driving it the it had park, reverse, neutral, and drive. No drive 1 and drive 2 for shifting into low gears. No biggie but must mention. Also I noticed that the engine was not exactly straight, but told thats the way it was put in because of its size and has no negative effect, and lastly , now that its been here a day, Ive noticed a few drips under it.Not sure what they are, but this was my friends fathers daily driver if that says anything about its reliability. On Nov-04-11 at 16:50:53 PDT, seller added the following information: nov. 4 6:30PM- Just updating that Yoday I put a brand new life time starter on the truck today as the old one was acting up, and also replaced the ignition switch with a new one.No more twisting red wires together to start it. Cranks up flawlessly now. The owner also found the door skins which will of course be included as well.
