Vehicle Detail
Beautiful 1976 Lincoln Continental Mark IV. The Mark is a rare luxury group that was called 'Red Rose' (pronounced 'Red Ro-say'). Luxury group Marks came fully loaded with extra options and special color combinations to make them unique among Marks. I am the third owner of this Mark IV and there are several things about the car that have surprised me greatly. The AM/FM 8-track Quadrosonic stereo still sounds new. The car always starts immediately and idles very quickly. The leather seats are in excellent condition and the dash is very good with no cracks. Last, it is by far the best on gasoline of the 3 Marks I have owned (one was a '79 and supposed to get better fuel mileage). I am selling the car because I want to concentrate on completing the restoration of my 1961 Lincoln Continental. The only thing not working on the car is the air-conditioning. The vinyl top does have a small tear in it at the bottom of the rear window. The car does have the usual parking lot door dings, etc. because of it's age. The red paint is very shiny. There is some small rust on the front wheel wells (pictured) where the tires have splashed water on them through the years. There is no other rust on the car at all. The windshield does have a crack, on the inside. It has been there since I bought it and has stayed consistent through the years. I believe that the Continental Mark IVs are beginning to come into their own as a classic car. They were so distinctive when new and even more so now. People not only stare at the car but, it seems to make them happy. It has a real presence.
