Vehicle Detail
This auction is for a 1973 Honda CB350G twin cylinder. This is the last year of the CB350 twin, and the first year of the front disc brake. Look at the photos carefully. I will do my best to describe the CB in detail. You are welcome to schedule a time to personally inspect the bike prior to bidding. It is located in Front Royal, VA, 22630. This auction will start at one single penny and will go to the highest bidder. However, I could be convinced to end the auction early for the right price. Make me an offer. I obtained this CB this year by doing some horse trading for another motorcycle. I was going to have it on the road by spring, but I have enough projects already, and plan to use the funds from this auction on those other projects. Let's start with the bad: Bike is currently not running. It will need a new battery, and the fuel system cleaned out. Owner #2 used "Kreem" to line the tank, and the liner needs to be stripped due to delamination. Front brake cylinder will need to be rebuilt. It is frozen, but the bike does roll. Plastic cover on right hand brake lever has been damaged by brake fluid. Small dent on top of fuel tank. Mufflers are non-original. I'm not sure about the headpipes. Mirrors are missing. There is some chrome pitting, but that's to be expected on a 38 year old machine. It's very presentable just like it is. Engine case finish is flaking in some areas. Ditto above. Now the good: Comes with original owner's manual. All pages complete and tight. Some smudging, no writing on pages. No rips or tears. Comes with original tool kit and pouch, and is complete. Fluorescent markings on gauges is nice and bright. It's the nicest set of gauges I've seen on a vintage bike in a very long time. It is quite evident that this machine has been stored indoors when not in use. Engine does turn over with kicker. It has electric start as well, but I have not tested the electricals. Comes with rear rack. I do not know if this is an OEM Honda item or not. Comes with passenger backrest that attaches to rack. Comes with engine protector. (crash bar/highway pegs) It is bent on the right side, and the right peg is chewed up. I could not find any other damage to the right side of the bike, so apparently it did it's job. It could be bent back and reinstalled if desired. Again, I am not sure if this is an OEM Honda item or not. Tires are not original, but are in good condition with no cracking or dryrot. Tubes hold air. This is Honda's best selling motorcycle ever - having sold over 300,000 units. Replacement parts are inexpensive and plentiful. Being the last year produced AND the only year with the front disc brake, this is a very desireable model for restorers / collectors. I expect the value of this machine to increase over the years. I've watched non-runners in worse condition go for $1500, and I've seen low mileage runners recently go for as much as $3,000. This is a good opportunity to buy a nice bike at a low price. No reserve. Starting at one penny. I will let the market dictate the price. Clean VA title in hand. There you have it. I feel I have given a good description of this very nice Honda CB350. I don't think it would take much effort to put this on the road at all. Ask questions and I will do my very best to answer in a timely manner. Please look at my feedback to see that I've been on ebay for quite a while with many, many happy buyers. If you need this item shipped; fees, crating, etc. is the sole responsibility of the new owner. I can schedule to meet the driver. I would like a $200 good faith PayPal deposit within 48 hours of auction's close. Balance to be paid in cash. I can store this bike securely for as long as needed, but I will need 100% payment first. Thank you for looking, and good luck bidding! On Oct-29-11 at 01:16:14 PDT, seller added the following information: I wanted to add that I believe that this CB350 is all original except for the exhaust and tires/tubes. There is no evidence of anything being repainted or repaired, and the side covers match the tank. They are not from another bike. Both fenders are straight with zero dents or dings. I was also unclear on the right peg damage described above. The damage is to the highway peg on the engine guard alone, not to the bike. There is no damage to be found on the bike other than the shallow dent on top of the fuel tank. There is another 1973 CB350 that is currently selling for $4150. I believe that bike to be a very nice "resto-mod" restoration, not original condition. How do I know this? The rims, tires, handlebars, exhaust collars, levers, cables, and plug wires are all aftermarket. The top tree and risers are the wrong color. And the engine cases have been polished instead of being powdercoated. It is without a doubt a very nice bike, but it is clearly not original. This one is original, and it's only original once. Thanks for looking.
