I am selling a 1988 Mercedes 560 SEL. This has been in my family since it was purchased brand new by my grandfather. When my grandfather had it he always had it serviced and maintained by the dealership I think HBL in Tysons. He gave it to my parents which my dad was a body shop manager for the dealership I think in 2001 or 2002 and since then it has had very little use since it was a third car for them. This car looks great and starts up and runs every time. It has 226,000 miles on it but you would never be able to tell with the way it runs and looks. The engine runs and sounds great and the transmission shifts good and strong. I will list everything that I know it has and everything I know it needs. It was the top of the line in 88 and fully loaded with heated seats ( I didnt even know they existed in 88), sunroof, full leather power seats, power windows and doors and much more that I can not think of right now. It was painted all over at the dealership in 2002. The top half of the engine was overhauled at 155,000 miles. The wheels on it are off of a 2000 S class. The brake pads, rotors, and calipers were replaced less than 4000 miles ago so they are like new. The air bag system needs a new control module. This was triggering the check engine light so they took the bulb out in it. Again the check engine light is on because of this but does not show up on the dash because of the bulb. The cruise control is also not working I dont know the reason or the cause of this. These are the only major problems that I know of. There are some other miscelaneous things cosmetically such as the grille being slightly dented and there being some small door dings and scratches in the right rear door, the interior is in good shape except for the cup holder on the driver side being broken which I have it just has to be fixed some how, and some mount holes that are on the right side of the center where I think my dad had XM hooked up. The driver seat sinks a little and I think is due to the frame, the seats works fine all power works great and is actually kind of comfortable with this. There is wood trim inside and the car overall is in really good shape for the year. It will start up every time and run good. The appearance of the car is amazing and you really have to come see it to appreciate it. Any questions please ask. I am fine and would prefer people to come and check it out before bidding.
