Vehicle Detail
This is our 1947 PACKARD Clipper 110. We bought her from the second owner( a retired Catapillar engineer who rebuilt the engine, transmission, overdrive, brakes and suspension), The original owner was his wifes bosses mother. She has a six cyl. engine, 3 speed with overdrive(works perfectly), interior reupholstred in vinyl in the 90s, paint is shiny enamel w/ a few small chips(door has rubbed front fender) - a bit more kelly green than my monitor is showing. We eventually intended to paint her. bumpers chromed in the 90s. could use new chrome for the existing grill, left lower grill is cracked so we have another whole set, 3 pieces, which also need to be chromed. I've looked over her undercarriage for rust and can only find some on the underside of the rocker panels, not on the body or floor. Very reliable and smooth driver. We've had a lot of fun with this at the car shows (unique and shows well). This is an easy old car to drive: very easy steering, soft touch clutch pedal etc. Packard was often called the American Rolls Poyce, imagine if Rolls and Chevy mated- American engineering and style with with the attention to quality of Rolls Royce. Why own a ford or chevy when you could own a--PACKARD--. We just bought an older one(just up from basket case) so although we honestly don't want to sell her, there's just no room. Ask the girl who owns one- sarah at 314-539-1142 with any questions.
